A waste of 90 minutes of my life
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
This was a good episode. Enjoyable, liked the main character, and it's well shot. A little devoid of emotion though.
Black Mirror was always grounded in reality, a possibility so close that you can sense it, where technology reveals the true underlying nature with very REAL consequences. It completely missed the point. The story has no apparent real world effect, worst comedy timing. The script was juggling too many things at once, hence created a mess! Not to mention the unexplained sci-fi jargon just to move the story. NOT AT ALL like Black Mirror.
Basically episode exploits the idea of one of the previous episodes and just adds tons of dumbness to it. Examples are: 1. Why does one even patch the game from cloud? Just download upgrade to local drive and install it. 2. Why IoT devices (like the one to receive calls from the door or phone) are connected to the internet? He is genius engineer who created whole game and even made a custom branch of it. 3. How dumb software engineer should be to store her naked photos in cloud? 4. How stupid software engineer should be to agree on everything from some random hacker who tries to blackmail her threatening to make her naked photos go public? Especially going against her boss when she's working in company for a week or so...And this thing with guy being trapped in the end was just a cherry on top of this pie of stupidity... As a result - insanely bad.
Great start of the new season. A not too gloomy episode targeted on Sci-Fi from the 60's and the nerds who love it. By chance I just finished watching the second series of Fargo and I was pleasantly surprised to see two of the main characters in different roles.Piemons is Robert Daly, the lonely nerd managing a high-tech company by day and brave spaceship captain by night.Milioti, looking healthy and strong, is Nanette Cole, a contemporary woman who ends up trapped in the spaceship as an hapless, miniskirted girl from the 60s.Don't expect a Star Trek episode, even if at the start it looks a lot like that.
