The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

Well, this was supposed to be created for younger children but the first thing we see is a scrolling text box like the one we see in Star Wars to talk about what has happened before. I don't know what children would actually sit and read that but I could barely read what it said against the background. They created Lancelot as a Frenchman for crying out loud! Not sure if anyone knows this but around the time of Camelot, England and France were actually at war fighting each other. It is as though they are making a mockery of history and the legend instead of trying to explain the truth. The round table turned into just a wedding present they got and things just fell into place for the sake of falling into place. The animation feels a bit broken up and awkward. Everyone looks and moves jaggedly. When horses move, they seem to sometimes slide along the ground. The faces look very ugly with how squashed or stretched out to the point of not looking natural. There is much looping and jokes for the sake of jokes within the animation. There are lot of inconsistencies in the artwork as well including the neck of Gwenaver's collar changing colors for many different times. The characters sound so stupid and the narrations feel choppy and dislocated like the animation. Voices feel either forced or they just grabbed someone off the streets in order to do the voice of practically all the characters. We also get songs out of the blue that should never be played again. The singers should have never sung like Iago from Aladdin. Not only that but some of the songs are rather racist in my book. For example, in the song Lancelot sings in the bar about what a knight does actually has the words 'Teach the pagans how to pray' within it. I'm Pagan and take offense to this, though I do understand the history behind it. Still when creating a show for children, leave out the religion when it is that mean. Half the time, we can't even understand what they are trying to sing because the accents getting in the way.
