One of my all time favorites.
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
"Studie Nr. 9" or "Study No. 9" is another one of German filmmaker Oskar Fischinger's films from the "Study" series. This one has sound, but no color yet. We hear a classical piece and see the shapes and structures in this 3-minute black-and-white film move to the rhythm as if they are dancing really. I must say I like most of Fischinger's other work better. In terms of the animation, this is actually really weak for a 1930s short film i must say and this music, well.. it is not his achievement. I also somehow do not really like the idea of relying on another artist's work and create a film around it. The visual side (maybe the story) should always be the core of a film and this one here would not have existed without Brahms' work. I think if you decide to just listen to the record, you will have at least the same experience as from watching this film, maybe an even better one. I don't recommend the watch.
