Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

Jack(Owen Wilson)is a smooth wisecracking criminal(mainly "small"stuff like breaking and entering, heisting super-cars from the wealthy)pulled into stealing some cash from a crooked developer, Ray Ritchie(Gary Sinise)by the man's lover, Nancy(Sara Foster..the perfect object of lust;she's barely shown anytime during the film in full dress). Jack was a former employee of Rays, fired because of his role in a protest against his employer's corrupt treatment of his workers. Meanwhile, Walter(Morgan Freeman)a judge offers Jack a job tending to the needs of his chain of beach bungalows, for reasons uncertain at the moment for the exception that he flat-out doesn't like the way Ray operates. Bob Rogers, Jr(Charlie Sheen)is a lackey for Ray who is putty in Nancy's hands. She wants Ray's dough and coerces Jack with her flirts and sex to get it. The film shows their planning, but no plan is perfect and as in films like this one, nearly everyone gets conned(scammed)one way or another. The film offers a plot regarding the theft of money, but it's merely an excuse to let Wilson toss quips in his cool manner as Sara Foster parades her luscious, intoxicatingly gorgeous body around to hold our attention. For the exception of Sheen and Freeman, everyone else(including supporting bits by vets like Willie Nelson and Harry Dean Stanton)is pretty much starring in cameos. Certainly Sinise's role is painfully short as is Bebe Neuwirth as Ray's alcoholic wife Alison who might even have her hand in the distribution of cash hidden by her husband in a safe guarded by the inept Bob, Jr. The film is breezy, laid back, and light..the location of Hawaii and Owen's throwaway charm redeem this fluff somewhat.

Owen Wilson Is The Man, but when it comes to this movie, I don't know what he was thinking even starring in it. I rented it expecting to have a good time but it is hardly a comedy. Nothing is really funny and it seems like a film that was thought up in about a week and filmed in two. Owen should of thought of a better movie to star in, He is a great actor but when it comes to something so boring and awful, I would say stick with ACTUAL COMEDIES. This movies plot was weak, I mean the whole time during the movie I was waiting for that certain point were all of a sudden something happens and I start giggling in my seat, That certain part never came, In fact the best part of the movie was the end. I don't mean to put down this movie but it was actually not worth the renting fee I paid. You know when in the beginning movies tend to be boring and then they get interesting, well this one just went boring all through the picture, and Charlie sheen is a horrible actor. I would not recommend paying to see this movie, If you are bored one night and all you have on is this movie, then I understand, OTHERWISE, Don't WATCH IT. My Opinion off course.

The worst dialog in the history of screenplays!!! Mr. Bing would have been better of putting his money in ENRON stock!!! How can Hollywood expect us to "GO to the Movies" when they come out with this junk!!! Morgan Freeman had a nice shirt and that's all I can say positive about "THE BIG FLOP". Geo. Armitage should offer a Refund w/ his next Blockbuster!! This " Thing " made a ROGER CORMAN Film look like a "BEST PICTURE" lock on Oscar!!! Enough said!!! I don't think so!!! Remember" Vigalante Force "," Privite Duty Nurses ", etc. Where do Directors get the $$$$$$$$$$$ to make this junk???????????? Perhaps there's too much HOLLYWEED in Hollywood!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why this movie even exists. Maybe the book is better, but this movie has no entertainment value whatsoever. The plot doesn't make any sense, the characters have zero depth (what was Charlie Sheen's character for?), Sara Foster has no acting ability, the music is annoying, and to top it all off the whole movie has been sanitized for a lower rating - not that anyone would recommend this rubbish to anyone else as a family film. The only highlights are brief shots of Hawaiian scenery.I'm glad I never paid at the cinema to see this, but I feel just as ripped off paying two bucks at Blockbuster to rent the DVD. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, and I feel sorry for the actors dragged into appearing in this movie.
