Too much of everything
A brilliant film that helped define a genre
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Starts off okay but gets farcical in the latter stages. Could have been so much better
Trailer gives away the whole plot of the film and while the story is predictable in parts, it's made worse by the spoiler filled trailer. Unfortunately the only way to attract people to watch a lower budget movie is to show everything good about the film in the trailer. Some nice dark moments but needed more of a divide on how to deal with the situation they seem to make up their mind a little bit too easily for there to be any tension between the two main characters However, if you like the films the go to the darker side of the mind it's a good watch. 6/10
I refuse to divulge any spoilers here. I hat when people do that. Is it perfect, no, very few movies are but this is an excellent film. It will tear you up if you have any feelings at all.
While the concept of friends having a dreadful, life-altering experience in the woods has been done time and time again, this go at it isn't bad by any means. The suspense of this movie is what kept my eyes from straying. There were moments when I was unconsciously holding my breath. And while the ending could be guessed if you watched a high volume of this particular genre, I was so caught up in the moment, I didn't want to guess and ruin the ending for myself. The characters were very rooted in reality. I found myself liking both the "good" and the "bad" guys. You understood why everyone did what they did. Everything just makes sense. The acting can be a little cheesy at times, but the cheesy moments don't take away or add from the real meat of this movie. So those tiny moments can be brushed aside or forgotten. Overall, the acting was very grounded and believable. The camera work is generally pretty average. However, there are a couple moments were shoots were so incredibly pretty and felt like they would never end. This moments surprised and pleased me.While the plot is nothing new, this movie is not another cheese fest that I'll easy forget within the hour. I am definitely glad I happened to switch this little gem on.
