Best movie ever!
This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
"Den offentlige røst" or "The Public Voice" is an 11-minute animated short film from 1988, so this one will have its 30th anniversary soon. The writer and director is Danish filmmaker Lejf Marcussen and it is certainly his most known work almost 3 decades later, probably his only known work I would almost say. Then again, he is not exactly a prolific filmmaker if you take a look at his body of work. I personally would say that this one here was not a failure, but it is like an abstract painting (fittingly also many references about paintings in here) and I did not really enjoy the watch. It is pretty bold and colorful, but I myself did not really see anything memorable in here. I will admit though that the way you perceive the approach by the filmmaker and the film's style and animation is entirely subjective and as is my dislike for the project. I give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
