Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

Wrong movie for Harman to act in. He probably got so excited working with Ashutosh who made so many landmark films. The movie is long and is sort of play like, where a guy chooses girls based on zodiac signs. Much of old, and even today many people use this kundli method of marriage. Just city people don't get. But what India's traditional and best way of marriage is showcased in the movie. It's showing someone who is educated, same time modern but has kept his traditional and values of his family. Lot of people in present time are lost in the modern world but this Yogesh the lead in the film is modern and wants to have love marriage but agrees to chose girls based on zodiac sign b/c with signs he knows he can meet 12 different girls in less time. He sees his first girl, and that image stays with him in his mind, in some ways an image in his mind before was unclear after meeting the first girl he carries on that image which gives him prospect to think his dream girl looks that way, so he see each girl the same onwards. Priyanka is sexy, charming but I think even having the title, she isn't that much pretty. I love her work in some of her movies but she isn't pretty or beautiful. She doesn't have looks of a heroine. In comparison with so much beautiful heroines of industry like Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Mumtaz, Madhubala, and Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rehman, she is no way near to their beauty even their acting skills but she can act for sure but in this movie she doesn't really have anything to act. She is showed in 12 different ways, by changing her looks. Not even one look is pretty. The actress only posses smartness, sexy body and acting skills. She isn't pretty at all. Even Bipasha beats her in looks area, much duskier, black beauty Bipasha looks better than Priyanka. Movie is good in ways of portraying the traditional way of marriage in Indian culture. The movie has tooooooo many songs which lengthen the movie. Harman just chose to work with an excellent director and in his excitement he probably forgot to look at the script. Even after giving hit of Lagaan he gave Swades, so after Jodha Akbar he was on his way to give a flop. There is a pattern in Ashu's movie. His direction is poor. The movie is good if you have big time to watch it & want to know the traditions of Gujrati families marriages. Such a talented actor but is overshadowed by 12 characters and he lost in what to chose in the movie and who to chose. After watching Victory, this movie is a let down on Harman Baweja b/c he ran for powerful director not for the good story. Watch it for Priyanka's experimental looks and for old rituals' sake. Not for Harman b/c he is a lead but his ex had more in the film than him.

The lead actor needs serious acting lessons, he might have the looks, somewhat the dance moves too. But his acting is a mess and very hard to stomach. This movie rests solely on the lead actress, which is seriously impressive. The story is not bad at all with minor tackles of serious issues like child marriage. A very enjoyable movie if you are willing to ignore the previously mentioned let downs. I wonder though how much research was put in actual personalities of each rashee. A lot of the characteristics were missing that are hallmarks of each horoscope personality. Again Priyanka did a phenomenal job, while Mr Baweja failed.

Whats your Raashee...Great concept, touching songs, brilliant Priyanka and honest Harman. I would say the movie is not that bad as some have felt. The music by Sohail Sen lacks the "Rehman" touch but still its soothing. "Bikhri Bikhri" and "Sau Janam" are brilliant compositions and so is "Su Che". "Jao na" is a simple song yet so hummable. Rest also are good like "Salone Kya", title song and "Pyaari Pyaari". My thumbs up for Music. The point where the movie lacked was the way Harman's dilemma was shown on screen. It could have been handled better. His acting though is much much better than Love story 2050 and he looks cute. Priyanka is awesome and mesmerizing. No one in the Industry could have done better than her. So another Thumbs up for performance.Unfortunately the climax is disappointing to say the least. The comedy scenes are not well put up. The movie could have been a little shorter and the sub-plots are not effective. Ashutosh has a knack of giving social messages in his movie and this was no exception. Women independence, family values have been depicted well. I would say the movie could have been made in two parts as WYR-1 AND WYR-2 with much better effect and that could have left audiences wanting for more. Thumbs down for editing and Direction. :(All and all its a sweet movie worth a try. Don't even dare to miss this one if you are a Priyanka fan. I would say go for it.

A remarkable film that looks at the age old tradition of arranged marriages that rely upon the influence of Raashee (zodiac sign) compatibility in selecting the right partner, What's Your Raashee? is a romantic comedy that carries the distinct signature of ace filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. The film's screenplay is based on the Gujarati novel written by Madhu Rye, titled Kimball Ravenswood, and while Harman Baweja plays the affable Gujarati NRI Yogesh Patel living a perfect life in Chicago, Priyanka Chopra plays a record breaking twelve roles Anjali, Sanjana, Kajal, Hansa, Rajni, Chandrika, Mallika, Nandini, Pooja, Vishakha, Bhavna and Jhankhana all girls whom Yogesh meets in the pursuit of finding his 'suitable bride.'Yogesh is a young man who in his heart has always wanted a love marriage. Till suddenly he is told that he must find his dream girl within ten days to save his family from utter ruin. Finding the dream girl is tough enough. Finding her in a hurry is even tougher. His solution is simple; he will meet one girl from each Raashee , as he feels that is the best way to make sure he finds a suitable wife, while also giving himself twelve chances to fall in love. Two meetings per day gives him six days to meet them, three days to make a final decision and he can get married on the tenth day, or so he thinks.Without getting into further details of the plot and the trouble that the family is facing as it will spoil the viewers' fun, one must say that unlike the conventional romantic comedies that Indian cinema offers today, this film reminds you of the genuine charm and humorous undertones of a Hrishikesh Mukherjee or a Basu Chatterjee film of yesteryears. Gowariker weaves comedy and drama deftly amidst extremely hummable songs scored by young Sohail Sen, and every Zodiac sign gets its own signature tune, coming together as an amazing amalgamation in the thirteenth song, Chehre Jo Dekhe Hain, when the protagonist has to make the final choice, and recaps all the twelve wonderful women he has encountered over the past few days. Needless to say, What's Your Raashee? is a musical, and one that takes its leisurely time to unfold, but it is a film that keeps you smiling with your feet tapping through its three hour plus length. A refreshing song laden comedy that reminds you of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun? but with far more humour and variety, it is also a fine showcase of superlative performances from Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja. While Priyanka brings forth a versatility that has to be seen to be believed, Harman gets the Gujarati boy just right, winning your heart with his sincerity he transforms into the perfect Yogesh and carries the film splendidly considering the entire film is his journey and hence the audience sees every match finding encounter through his eyes. As a high concept idea and beyond, you tend to almost forget that each new girl who is introduced to Yogesh is played by Priyanka Chopra, simply because Priyanka through the smallest nuances and behavioural traits ensures that even in such short screen time, each girl has a well defined overall personality and that each girl is independent of the other; no doubt one of the finest performances by any female actor in Hindi cinema in a long time, under the deft direction of an experienced filmmaker with a wide latitude and unsurpassed emotional maturity.Supporting actors like Dilip Joshi as Yogesh's brother Jitubhai, Aanjjan Shrivastava as his father Bharatbhai and Darshan Jariwala as Devukaka, the rather interesting uncle, help in enlivening the proceedings, adding colour to the central plot. Of course, one cannot forget Rajesh Vivek as the enterprising jasoos on a mission through the film, who makes every Gowariker film all the more interesting.Songs like the romantic ballad Jao Na, or Su Che with its mischievous play of words and choreography, or the powerplay of Maanunga, or Pyaari Pyaari with its sweet moments of simple courtship interactions across a working date, are just some examples of how entertainingly every situation is scored and picturised, and every girl has a song to be remembered by.And yes, the film has a lot to say between the music and comedy, be it through Javedsaab's lyrics, or through the director's perceptive observation of our society and the rules that dictate arranged marriages; the fact that only Gowariker can have subtle messages placed even within a light hearted romantic comedy once again proves that his films may have length, but they also will always have a well placed heart and soul, and will be remembered for years to come as both seminal and entertaining.BOTTOM LINE - A Remarkable Film.... a big Thumbs UP !!!
