Memorable, crazy movie
An Exercise In Nonsense
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
An awesome, fabulous movie. It has taken Indian movies to a new height!!Kudos to Mr.Kamelshwar Mukherjee and his whole unit who have dared to undertake such a risky project for the sake of Indian cinema. Dev has been really good especially during last part. Also liked the way Kamaleshwar has perfected the concept of Bunyip.Other stunts with the wild animals were also nicely done. A big round of applause to the dop.The photography is really breath taking. Altogether a very thrilling and adventurous movie....a nice break from the daily regular masala movies we generally watch!! So go ahead...and make an eventful 2.5 hours journey to "Chander Pahar".
Many of us love watching adventure films, but very few good ones remain in memory.when Adventure combines with the Wild , the Thrill of watching the movie goes up.I am a Bengali person who has read Bibhutibhusan's Novels and other popular adventure stories by Author's around the world.I read "Chander Pahar" when i was in middle school and felt the story captivating . when i heard that a movie was being made in 2012 ,i felt that its a very difficult task to present on-screen.But when the show began i understood that i need not to worry, because it starts with thrilling action sequences and never bores you at all.I also watch Hollywood films and clearly understand the difference in quality but leaving that aside all that matters is how you present a story in front of viewers. Most theaters and multiplexes are going house-full because people wish to taste the thrill , which has been neatly delivered by Director Kamaleswar Mukherjee. The cast of this film seemed to be carved out of the Novel itself . The film also delivers a good morale and describes a long journey without boring the audience. Both the Bengali cast and foreign cast are perfect and the cinematography is spectacular. If you have not watched it yet because you liked "Dhoom 3" , then i advise to watch this to change your mind and experience the thrill "Chander Pahar" delivers
I guess soon most of the nation would realize that "Chander Pahar" is probably one of the best adventure movies made in the history of Indian cinema,if not the best.I can see that some the posts over here is comparing "Chander Pahar" with "Life of Pi".As a novel, "Life of Pi" is an absolute crap if you compare that with BBB's "Chander Pahar".So,no doubt,"Life of Pi" was more like a child's 3D entertainment. There are a few semi-ripe folks in India who consider themselves as pundits based on their regular viewing of Hollywood movies. They should watch good movies from all over the world.Only then they would realize that if Bollywood movies like "Dhoom 3" are crude junk,"movies like "Life of Pi" is sophisticated junk.Anyways, I don't think that Bollywood can make something equivalent to "Chander Pahar" even if they get 150 crores.Bollywood is busy with "Ram Leelas" and converting Sholay to 3D by spending 25 crores.Wish, some of those Bollywood directors could find some sponsor for grey matter.
