n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

An excellent documentation on how new European laws emerge, how people in Brussels struggle for compromises, and how lobbying efforts from all sides try to push things into their direction. In the middle of it, the movie's "Jan Philipp Albrecht", a young MEP from the green party that tries to achieve the best possible outcome to protect privacy of European citizens in the years and decades to come. The new General Data Protection Regulation is only just the example for the law making process, but not center-stage. Could be on any other law where citizens rights and interests of big companies clash.

Decisionmaking in the EU is a complicated process. The Commission prepares a proposal, the Parliament and and the Council have to agree to it. If they don't, they can make changes, until both can agree. This documentary shows how it worked for the data protection directive, focusing on the Parliament, it shows the difficulty of finding a compromise, lobbyists trying to get their interests to be included in the directive and the "hero" of the story, a member of parliament trying to coordinate all this and come up with a proposal that will get a majority.Watching this will help you understand how the EU works, 89 minutes well spent.

The other guy who reviewed clearly missed the point of the film, intentionally or unwisely. The whole idea is that EU is not an undemocratic institution that spewing unnecessary documents like Eurosceptics has claimed. Quite the contrary, it is probably the only place where young idealists like Albrecht could make a contribution for the betterment of the European people. National politics are often dominated by shady and well connected dynasties, making meaningful progress impossible.International institutions like the EU is the only place where young people doesn't have to surrender to the political establishment due to the perfect balance of power and project their vision into the future, it could still be quite difficult but it is the only place where all is possible.

The whole movie is in black and white for no apparent reason. Most of the film is in English despite being advertised as "German". Uninteresting bullshit about the EU data protection laws, lots of missed chances. Could've been a good movie but they mad it shitty. Half of the movie is just people walking around with no voice or text, just music playing in the background. The pictures / videos of the European Parliament could have been interesting, if they weren't black and white garbage. For text overlays, they had color, but not for the movie, totally a deal breaker for me. Content wise it's just the usual yada yada that everyone heard a 100 times in the news thanks to Snowden. Really nothing new there. Good movie to recommend to your enemies.
