Reviews
It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.
This is one of the most inspiring documentaries I've ever watched. The lives of twins that both had inspirations and goals that ultimately came together was astonishing to witness. It also demonstrates the brotherly bond that shows their dedication to each other... which is the underlying story other than Brian's goal to be a Cirque performer. I'm always interested in true stories about normal people's aspirations to succeed in their dreams, but this was something like I've never watched before. It takes place over numerous years and was the result of hundreds of hours of footage. Kevin's talent shines in the fact that he was able to trim all the years of filming in to the most crucial and pertinent aspects of Brian's journey. I was extremely moved by the entire production and would highly recommend it to anyone that has a heart and desire to succeed in their dreams.
A wonderful true story about a man who left the security of a job as a stock broker to follow his dream of becoming a world class trapeze artist. From his start as a water polo player trying to achieve a spot on the U.S. Olympic team to his remarkable journey to learn from the best trapeze artists in the world, you'll feel as close to the film's subject, Brian Flint, as his brother who produced the film. The highs of each success and the lows of each disappointment kept me rooting for Brian to achieve his dream of performing at Cirque du SoleilUplifting and interesting. See it. It'll make you feel good about being human.
