Absolutely Brilliant!
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Musty Suffer ventures into the badlands of suburban New Jersey, where he captures a wild pantomime horse and trains him. Next he wishes to be a cab man, so his fairy godfather appears and creates a coach and uniform for Musty. After that, things get silly.Producer George Kleine had been importing Italian slapstick comedies, but World War One had reduced the supply, so he made his own. Italian slapstick was particularly vicious, so he recruited ex-circus clown and Ziegfeld star Harry Watson Jr. for the role of Musty Suffer, the most disgusting and funny film series of the era. Although in this one, Musty does not get his head sawn off, there is plenty of very rough slapstick that, once you stop goggling, will make you laugh uproariously.
