The Mirror
There is a long-held belief that mirrors act as gateways to another dimension. ·Some also believe the looking glass plays host to a world filled with evil spirits. Such superstition has been the basis for ancient folklore legends about haunting and possession. And one tale about a supposedly haunted mirror was picked up by the media in 2012. Both the Daily Mail and Huffington Post reported on how the owners of a recently purchased antique mirror left them dogged by bad luck, financial misery, strange sightings and death-defying illness. Now writer/director Edward Boase brings that horrifying story to the screen starring Jemma Dallender (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2), Joshua Dickinson and Nate Fallows (‘Whitechapel’) as flatmates who buy the same eerie antique on ebay and set up round the clock cameras in the hopes of capturing evidence of bumps in the night. You have been warned!

good back-story, and good acting
A Masterpiece!
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
I just finished watching this film and i really enjoyed it. I dint understand why people gave this movie such a low rating. usually horror movies don't get good reviews on IMDb .According to me this movie should get 9-8 Ratings But some Major errors in the movie made me to reconsider the rating to 7-8. i would not say that it is better than Oculus but this film was far better than paranormal activity franchise and other found-footage type movie. I usually don't like found footage type movies because the camera keeps on shaking but in the movie they controlled it a little. this movie made me scare especially the End 5 minutes of the movie. all the actors in the film did very well.i liked this film
Ah, the good old found footage horror genre. The perfect excuse for low production values, bad acting and general badness since the days of the blair witch project. In order for a movie to be a horror film, there has to be some degree of actual horror or scariness. The Mirror fails in that regard. Sure there are a few sequences that maybe sort of work. But altogether its level of scariness falls somewhere between a goosebumps novel and an episode of antiques roadshow. The plot is simple. Three English students buy an antique mirror off ebay and some expensive camera equipment in an effort to win a paranormal contest. All three of the students have the collective IQ of a bag of crisps as is required to make any part of the film to work. They live in a part of england where police and doctors don't exist. They mostly sit around doing nothing in their ikea furnished flat for an hour until one of the students, Matt becomes haunted or possessed by the mirror. As far as possessions go, this is one of the lamer ones. Overall, the movie is lame, boring and corny with poor pacing and poorer plot. "Mirror Cam" from the movie is probably 10 times more exiting than this.
It is difficult to put into words how terrible - painfully terrible - this indie film is. While I appreciate all of the work done by cast and crew I am obligated, nay driven, to comment. This production can be summed up succinctly thus: three dimwitted 20-somethings want to play "paranormal activity" for a few days and, putting their limited cerebral resources on hold, spend most of their time running amok loudly cursing and fighting with each other as they opine about a newly acquired mirror now hanging in their badly decorated flat in London. Toss in some poorly-done fake blood, an obsession with eyes, and a loathing for anything resembling suspense and you have nicely summed up "The Mirror."
I really enjoyed this movie and was pleasantly surprised by it. Although at first this movie seemed to be following a familiar formula, it turned out to be a fresh take on my favorite genre. The idea is based off a real haunted mirror that was sold on Ebay, which I think adds to the authenticity of the movie. The characters are very likable and they have good chemistry- I believed them as roommates and enjoyed their interactions. I also enjoyed the use of multiple found-footage cameras, it added to the thrill of not knowing what would come next. The tension really builds throughout the film, by the end I was covering my eyes, which is exactly what I was looking for! Very entertaining and frightening- I would definitely recommend this movie if you like horror films.
