A Major Disappointment

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Stanley Creech (Daniel Emery Taylor...also wrote and directed film) is an obese creepy individual who abducts women, rapes and kills them at the abandoned St. Leopold hospital. A film crew goes there to shoot about the haunting of said hospital along with several young females.The film is a rape/slasher movie with friendly ghosts and not much horror. The rapes are off camera. Consensual sex is on camera. The acting was better than a "Brain Dead" film and for the most part worse than Asylum. The acting in the restaurant scene had me laughing. If you are expecting a creepy ghost horror film, this isn't it. It you want a fun rape/slasher, this is it, you sick pup go get help.There is nothing like topless slutty goth looking chicks to make a film say "beer movie."10 stars as a fun local cult film. I could see where fans of "Blood Sucking Freaks" finding some enjoyment in this short production.1 star for a serious viewer.Blood, no gore. Yes folks, this is a low budget independent horror. There are no anorexic Hollywood actors, no fancy CGI effects. And it is extreme horror, this isn't PG-13 stuff for teens.Some girls drive around when their car breaks down. Someone else arrives. Next thing we know, they are tortured and raped. And that's just the intro. A college girl travels to a town to investigate the rumors surrounding the local abandoned hospital. Everyone in town encourages her to leave and forget about it. She doesn't. You can guess what happens to her. Except that she isn't killed but kept alive by the bad guy.5 girls take a paranormal investigation tour sponsored by some sleazy paranormal investigator. He hands the girls over to 2 guys who'll do the tour. The tour will be several days at the hospital, where the groundskeeper is...the bad guy from the intros.Turns out the 2 guys aren't just interested in hooking up with the girls but they have much more sinister plans for them. And it gets very nasty, let's put it that way. Eventually cops get involved as well as the father of the college girl and her sister. But there are some more twists to the story.As a low budget movie, you should know to expect uneven acting, poor lighting, problems with sound, normal looking people, etc. But what I didn't expect was how extreme and graphic this movie would be. There lots of violence, gore, nudity, blood, and other bodily fluids. But they actually bothered to come up with a good story and script. Acting isn't all around terrible, several actors here do a good job. I'm going to give The Hospital high marks for the sheer guts to make a movie like this and for the cast for being committed to doing some pretty nasty stuff. You can't really review and rate a movie like this by Hollywood standards. Overall, a courageous attempt and if you know what you're getting yourself into, it's even enjoyable.

The concept of the movie is good. The execution is very weak. With the right people behind this movie and a decent budget this movie could have been much better. Change the actors as well. Such terrible acting, I think my 4 year old is a better actor than most of them combined.Once again, good storyline, although, a few too many boobs and rape scenes.Don't get fooled by the cover of the DVD.. I believe those are fake reviews as well here on IMDb. 5 of the reviews get a perfect 10, which is according to any standards impossible for this movie.Hopefully the makers learn from their mistakes and next project will be better.

I picked this up at a horror convention last month and just now sat down to watch it. I don't really think much of indie horror films. I appreciate what they're trying to do but the acting is usually bad and the effects are bad and the stories are cheesy. This one had an interesting synopsis so I took a chance on it.Wow ... just wow ...I don't want to give anything away because that's part of the shock. It starts off like a bad 80's movie but you think it's going to be fun and cheesy and you keep watching. Then BAM! It goes insane. Rape, torture, necrophilia, man rape, and some of the sickest stuff I've ever seen in my entire life. Rape kind of makes me uncomfortable anyway and the rape scenes are so realistic and savage it makes my skin crawl. But I loved it. That's messed up.It goes from cheesy to horrific back to cheesy to even more horrific. I think the filmers were just doing that on purpose to mess with us. You think things are going to be lightened up and the bad stuff is over and then it only gets worse. I'm like obsessed with this movie now. I see Stanley when I close my eyes to go to sleep ... and I kinda like that.There are some really bad computer effects in the movie but aside from that the practical stuff is awesome and the whole hospital itself is insanely scary looking. And Stanley's heavy breathing ... ugggggh ...YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!
