One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

Honestly, this isn't a really bad movie, but it's also not a really good movie. If you seen it on Mystery Science Theatre 3000 then you likely liked it much better. the plot is actually really good and really creepy. The plot is centered around 2 people. the actor and actress who play them are honestly, not that good and in my book, they are the worst part of the actors in this movie. i know they were supposed to play dumb clones, but they were just forgettable. honestly, the best acting came from the two known actors in Dick Sargent and Peter Graves.Anyways, the plot was around a person called Richard, who accidentally bumped into a woman called Lena. you quickly find out that they are controlled clones and shouldn't have met and when told of the problem Dr. Jamison (Dick Sargent) decided he would see what would happen with this, which would end up hurting them as Richard becomes curious about the world he lives in and of course he becomes curious about "America." Clonus is ran by the doctors and guides there, who are working for a guy called Walker, and the doctors and guides teach these clones while also having them exercise almost non stop it seems to get them ready for "America." what the clones don't realize is that America isn't what they think it is. i won't get into the plot after that because that's actually one of the most interesting parts of this movie. the acting from Dick Sargent and Peter Graves was awesome and i also liked the acting from the guy who could likely play a perfect Mario. Dick Sargent and the guy i call Mario were clear cut villains who hid their intentions well from the clones, but when you seen them, you knew they were just pure evil. Peter Graves on the other hand was the wolf in sheep's clothing to not only the clones, but also his own family and even to the audience. he came off as the nice guy politician, who also had a clear evil intention. he was gold in this movie and helped this movie. i feel that if this movie was re-made with a better budget and better actor and actress to play Richard and Lena that it would be highly successful because the plot is actually really interesting and creepy.

This film was sourced from my friends mum who worked in a charity shop. She gave it to us along with a load of other unknown cassette tapes. The film itself is a bit rubbish. There are a few notable bits to laugh at like the bit when his girlfriend gets her head drilled into, but in general the film is bland. Interstingly when I saw the trailer for "The Island" I couldn't help noticing the similarities. Clonus may have been the inspiration for that film? All in all don't bother watching this film as it is dull and boring. We enjoyed it so much when we were 16 that we named our band after it. Another sign this film is a bit crappy is the shots on the back of the video case don't actually appear in the film? weird

The only reason I'm even giving this movie a 4 is because it was made in to an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The horrible direction is only slightly overshadowed by the characters complete inability to act. The lead is an actor i have never seen in anything else and it shows. No chemistry with the love interest and so bland you almost don't care what happens to him. Dick Sargent was not convincing as a villain least of all this guy was suppose to be super evil...he was more annoying then anything. Peter Graves was the only person the movie that wasn't awful, his part was small and even he couldn't compensate for his co-stars lack of talent. In 2004 someone tried to make this mess all over again it was called The Island...I personally didn't see that movie but from what i understand its the same movie. If you want to laugh at this movie get the MST3k episode its really funny...full of bewitched and biography references it makes this movie finally watchable

After viewing this film, I felt it was horrible. I only watched this after hearing about the Plagiarism scandal with the Island. The film lacks a leading character and is shot poorly. Fiveson does a horrible job maintaining "humanity" with the clones. Throughout the movie I felt as if the movie had no sense of direction. I also noticed that Fiveson seems more interested with the reactions and actions of the non-clones rather than what the movie is truly all about. As for its comparison to the Island, It does border that of which the Island is all about. Yet Fiveson didn't create the characters of Tom Lincoln, Merrick, Jordan2Delta. I would not go through the trouble of hunting this movie down on Amazon and purchasing it. Wait for it to show up on AMC, it has absolutely no value as far as Sci-Fi or novelty. Mr. Fiveson should be happy the Island came out, At least someone will be talking about his movie in 2006.
