13 Hours in a Warehouse

As five underworld heavies settle in for an all night stay at an abandoned warehouse and former film studio, a series of bizarre and unsettling occurrences quickly lead them to believe they are not alone. It was supposed to be a simple night of babysitting a single hostage, but when a series of numbers began to appear on the walls things soon took a dark turn. Later, after the hostage escapes, the perplexed thugs not only learn that there is a rat in the ranks, but also discover the unsettling nature of the films that were shot in the warehouse. Now, as terror takes hold, the thieves are about to discover that they are being stalked from the shadows and that their odds of living to see daybreak are shrinking with each passing minute.Written by Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

"13 hours in a warehouse" is a movie I actually had a lot of fun with. It tells us the story of a group of gangsters that has to kill some time in the middle of a coup and gets hunted down by the ghosts inhabiting an abandoned warehouse belonging to some of the group member's family. While this is in general unquestionable a rather dull plot, the producers managed to make a film that comes along with believable dialogues, consequent characters and some nice side-plots. The cons of the movie always begin when the ghosts actually show up. As in most smaller productions, it would have suited the film better to let go of special effects, simply because good ones aren't realistic within the budget. While I thus doubt that many people will experience traumatizing horror through this movie, it is still a nice little piece that you can enjoy rather easily without getting bored. All in all I can say that I think the title is a bit underrated here and if you don't mind unwillingly funny special effects, this could be worth a watch.

The beginning of 13 Hours in a Warehouse did not bring me too much confidence...two minutes of slooooow credits made with a pretty ugly design, badly done special effects and letters from three different fonts which pretend to be creepy and the number 13 from the title drawn with blood. The first scene from the movie makes an improvement, while director and screenwriter Dav Kaufman confirms the phrase which was used to sell this movie : "Reservoir Dogs but with ghosts".13 Hours in a Warehouse is very far away from being an excellent movie but at least,it is a competent one.As I said, this movie shares a lot of similarities with Reservoir Dogs and it does not get even a pinch of the atmosphere, tension and dialogues from that brilliant movie...but at least it tries. On this movie, the long conversations between the main characters try to find the strange balance between humor, realism and pop sensibility director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino used as an apparent challenge for hundreds of filmmakers who said : "I can also write about hamburgers" (like he did during a scene of Pulp Fiction which has the famous line "Royale with cheese").Films like 13 Hours in a Warehouse show that that things Tarantino does are difficult to do,although they seem easy at first sight.Kaufman fell on that trap,so some dialogues feel forced (for example, the "funny" discussion about Robin Williams and the films he participates on).The supernatural events from this movie are shown with subtleness and style and the reactions from the characters are realistic.I have to admit the movie fulfills with the intention of provoking suspense.Kaufman brought a solid direction and his work on that field is above the average from another straight-to-DVD horror films. But his work as a screenwriter was not as good as his work as a director.Besides some dialogues which are forced (as I previously mentioned),there are elements which do no flow naturally.Going back to the positive points, the dramatic scenes are the best element from this movie, specially when it is revealed the origins of the supernatural elements and its relationship with some of the criminals.I also appreciated this movie is more interested in atmosphere and tension than in showing litres and litres of blood,as difference to so many horror films.13 Hours in a Warehouse is not an excellent film and it is extremely far away from it.But,in spite of having various fails (specially,on the screenplay),this is a competent horror film which kept me entertained and tense.

After a gallery robbery the crooks wait in a warehouse for the man who hired them to show up and pay them. The location was once used to make films of an unsettling nature. As the night wears on the ghosts of the past, a rat in the ranks and a hostage they grabbed all conspire to to dwindle the numbers of thieves. Okay caper horror film starts off good and then begins to wobble as logic comes and goes beginning with why do they kidnap the woman who's car they carjack? (Other than to get a woman into the mix.) Taken on its own terms its an okay little movie, unremarkable and somewhat forgettable, but haunted by the feeling that the film should have been better. As it stands now its something I'd wait to stumble over on cable.

I have no idea where to begin because every part of the movie I watched was bad. It's rare when a movie doesn't have one good thing a viewer can say about it. I'm a fan of low budget movies that aren't from tinseltown. 13 Hours in a Warehouse only backs up peoples opinions on low budget movies that they are made by people that don''t know how to make a movie. Director Dav Kaufman's attempt to borrow a plot from Reservoir Dogs and make it a sorta horror movie did not work. Bad guys meet up in a warehouse with a kidnap victim. Said warehouse was a used to make twisted type snuff films. You can figure out what happens from there. I am 100% agreement with another reviewer that said Meisha Johnson stunk as the victim. Director Dav Kaufman for what ever reason took some kind of high ground by not following the B grade low budget horror formula. There has to be some kinda nudity. 13 Hours in a Warehouse tries to take itself to seriously. Don't waste time on this movie.
