Absolutely brilliant

I read all the reviews before I decided to watch this film. Most were 10/10, so I couldn't go wrong I thought...falsely. Let me explain. This film has a message to give. Some people find that this message is deep and beautiful. Of course there is nothing wrong with that, unless you try and disguise said message clumsily as a horror/ torture movie.For starters no one dies! Yes there is an awful lot of blood coloured goo and a couple of very boring torture methods that almost made me fall asleep; but all seems wrong, too nice, not sick enough. Something tells me it was done by someone who uses the horror genre as a medium to reach 'certain people' that just don't want to be reached -if you know what I mean-. Real horror fans who have sat through Saw and/or Japanese gems such as Grotesque for example will not enjoy this at all. Others who have never watched any decent torture/ slasher/ gore movies might like this film because it is 'nice' and 'friendly' compared to the real thing. Before you watch this ask yourself in which category you fit and base your decision on that. I personally can only give it a 1/10 and the one point is for the actor's trying. One of the most boring films ever.

Can't say enough positive things about this film. Ty, Aaron and Mandy put their hearts and soul into it, and you can see it in every second of the movie. I'm not a big horror film person, and could live with less blood, but they make you understand the bigger message: Little things mean a lot -- and we all need to pay more attention to that as we go along with our daily lives. Kudos to the entire cast and crew who put their blood, sweat and tears into making such a first-rate film -- they did an outstanding job and I'm so pleased to see it get the recognition it deserves!! Really nice to have it all Kansas City based, too -- glad to see some very talented Midwest folks received well deserved praise :)

I bought a ticket to "last Breath" hoping to be entertained by a fun indie horror movie and was pleasantly surprised when it proved to be so much more.The plot was compelling, at first reminding me of a setup out the Saw series and then surprising me with a twist and powerful ending.The practical special effects were impressive and the music really served the story.I'm always impressed by indie filmmakers who are able to overcome, almost seeming to thrive on limited resources and then end up making films that rival those with ten times the budget. Last Breath certainly fits that description.I give Last Breath a perfect "10" for breaking the cookie cutter horror movie mold by keeping me on the edge of my seat and then sending me home with a message I'm still thinking about more than a year later.

(Minor Spoilers) This film, directed by Independent Filmmaker Ty Jones, will be one of the most thought- provoking films in the horror/thriller genres you will see. In the first part of the movie, I thought, wow this is really a visceral film that is going to have a lot of suffering and blood, but then was blown away with the message and symbolism that came in the last 15 minutes of the film. Never saw it coming. This film will give you *a lot* to think about after you watch it. The film style and acting is fantastic and the production values far surpass the budget the director had to work with. I strongly recommend this as a must-see film this year. It breaks through genres to create a compelling message on the impact of decisions we make in life. The acting was fantastic by the principal actors.....cinematography very very well done...and the message was penetrating about how the choices we make can have such significant impact on our future and family's lives....perhaps all of us should be able to venture into the nightmarish zone to see the reality of what our actions can create....
