Admirable film.
It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
We call them "desantniki", you call them "paratroopers". But they're doing their job. As a former desantnik, I say it's one of the best film about real life in army! What a pity that it's not very popular to be a soldier in Russia now...
This is a very good action film about the Russian paratroopers. It is a film of substance, far superior to any Hollywood action movie, despite the relatively low budget. The action is much less frantic than that portrayed in Hollywood films of the same nature, and at the same time it is much closer to how we (soldiers) actually do things.The film has a good plot, solid characters, and offers plenty of suspense.
