This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Trash. Just Write is just plain bad, a cheap-jack, cutesy-poo, name-dropping cable movie attempt to cash in on the romantic comedy genre. There isn't an original thought or line of dialogue in this garbage. What your left with is a crummy attempt to be sweet and topical, and all you're going to get is a headache. The performances are of the dollar store variety. Jeremy Piven is likable, but he has a better radio-announcer voice than a screen presence. Sherilyn Fenn, all curvy and wholesome under her Marilyn Monroe makeup is just bland. Both actors, and the whole supporting cast, look as if they're in it for the money only. I saw this--or suffered through it--as a way to spend time with my family while recovering from surgery. I think barfing in the recovery room as the happy gas wore off was a more pleasant experience.Skip it!

This is as the cover of the video says a romantic comedy. A fun movie that although it is not going to change the world gives you a moment away from the day's trials and tribulations. Isn't that the best thing that a movie can do? Jeremy Piven is a great comedian who can take any material and make it his, so any fan must see this movie. He and Ms. Fenn should make more movies together because their chemistry is right. This movie was made by men who have never before or since made another film. If I understand it correctly the producers are dentists who love movies and wanted to make this one based on their script. Rent it and share it with someone you love with popcorn.

I have sat through many romantic comedies. Almost all of them have been lame and predictable. Then I rented JUST WRITE one night from Blockbuster. I rented it because I am a big fan of Jeremy Piven and I heard that it was really funny. To be honest, I didn't expect to like it. I did. It was one of the only romantic comedies I've seen where there is actual chemistry between the leads and it was one of the only romantic comedies where I laughed. I laughed a lot during this movie. Jeremy Piven is hilarious. I find him to be one of America's most underrated actors. He does a great job in this movie. He gives a very memorable performance. This is a movie that all Jeremy Piven fans should see. If you want to laugh, rent JUST WRITE.

I was fortunate enough to catch "Just Write," on Starz last night and was greatly pleased (and surprised) with this film. I found all of the main characters to be very likable and also found the writing to be stellar, at worst. The film has inspired me to the extent that I just ordered three screenwriting books off of Amazon.com! When a movie has the power to make a person feel something strong or inspire them to the point that they will do something about their inspiration, then it must be a great film, and "Just Write," is!
