I love this movie so much
One of my all time favorites.
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
The name of Marina Sirtis is immediately associated to the character Counselor Deanna Troi, from "Star Trek: The Next Generation". The cast has other names from Star Trek series. With this nostalgia and expectation of a good sci-fi, the unwary viewer may watch "5th Passenger" like I did. Unfortunately, the story is awful and the screenplay is a mess with a confused conclusion. My vote is two.Title (Brazil): Not Available
Horrible, HORRIBLE movie. Flat, badly acted, unlikeable characters, laughably bad "special" effects (even for a budget film).I'm all for B-movie quality sci-fi, some of my favorite films are those (like APEX or Dark Side Of The Moon) but is not even a "so bad it's good" type movie it's just... bad.Am I supposed to root for the BPD woman who kills her crew-mates so she can survive (sometimes for no reason at all)? Who let her go up in space in the first place?SO glad I didn't pay to watch this POS.
If you're expecting a high-budget film, you're in the wrong place. If you're a fan of indie sci-fi, this is a good one to add to the collection. While it's not fileld with million-dollar explosions and the latest ultra-popular actors, that's really not the appeal. The only issue I think many people might have with it (based on my own experience and readying some of these other reviews) is the stylistic choices that the director made in presenting the movie. They might be off-putting, though most of them make perfect sense once you get to the ending. Definitely worth a watch for any sci-fi fan.
I liked the acting for the most part in this film and there was a very nice surprise twist at the end that I didn't anticipate. It's always good when I can't predict how the film will end. Also the visual effects were very good, as was sound design. Well done!
