Brilliant and touching

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

I would rate this film as 8 out of 10 and would recommend every cinema lover to go and watch this film. I am sure you will be glad that you watched this film. The movie is about the life of a struggling actor VK (Ranveer), who finds himself in the middle of a gang war just because of his looks. This movie has a lot of twists and it will be unfair on my part to give away those here. In one line, the film is story of a guy who finds himself at the wrong place in the wrong time and how that changes his life.The best part of the movie is Ranvir Shorey, who is superb in double role. He plays the comic sequences and the serious ones with equal conviction. And the next revelation is Neha Dhupia, who also acts this time impressively.

Mithya is a movie that tells the story of the Mumbai underworld and how people who go to the place to make a career are trapped accidentally to work for them.This is what happens to the leading man,Ranvir Shorey.He is a young aspirant who goes to Mumbai for a job but somehow is trapped by the underworld and forced to work for them. Some how he had to escape from all this and how Ranvir does all this and his performance throughout is awesome.Ranvir is a talented man and has shown it again and again with his brilliance in most of the films.He is superb as a comic hero and if not excellent,good in serious roles as well.Bollywood needs heroes like him who are versatile. Mithya which also means lie is the story where everybody has to lie to survive.It is based on the mammoth conspiracy that seems foolproof, a don who could not tolerate betrayal.Its about VK who could not live a life of treachery and Sonam who at no cost wanted to go against her heart.Mithya is about destiny,fate and lies and the fact destiny does not always favor the truth. The movie really teaches a lesson or two and should be watched to see Naseerudin Shah's lovely performance.

Mithya is one of the many films directed by Rajat Kapoor with a very different storyline.The film stars Ranvir Shorey,Neha Dhupia,Naseeruddin Shah in it.The story of the film deals with the life of underworld in Mumbai.It is about how Ranvir,who comes to the city to make a career is trapped in the wild life of the underworld.We have seen Ranvir in comic roles most of the times.But every time he leaves behind his last role and plays better.This is what he did in this one as well.I have seen him in many film.Be it the latest IM 24 or Ugly aur pagli,he is simply brilliant.I should say,when it comes to comic,he is among the best in business at the moment.I watched Mithya just because of him and happy that I watched it because it is a very well made film with elements of thriller, suspense and comedy. I love watching movies with unique stories.This film is one of them.No superstars no huge casts but Mithya is one brilliant film that must be watched.

Rajat Kapoor also an actor directed this film and its nice to see him making this film in a very nice and interesting way. The story of the film is very different and its after a very long time that I saw a film like this one. It is a film with a is a film with a different story and all together a very different concept..
