hyped garbage
There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
I bought it. I have to admit that. Why? Don't know...probably I was drunk, stoned or a combination of both.Maybe i was desperate to put another movie on my shelf - 5000 is not enough yet. Anyways I own it - sad as that may be.The funny disappears in the first 3 minutes and for the rest of the time it's just burning itself out.The budget lists this flop as 500 000 dollars, but seriously - how can this even come close to anything of that budget? This at best is a camcorder movie with a cast of characters that should not have been paid for their efforts.Bad does not describe this - because bad still has some sort of potential.Downright awful is what this movie is - and sadly, with so many other - even those done with bigger budgets, this is just a waste of time for anything more than 3 minutes.I've seen grade 2 school plays which had better performances and a better production value than this has.The director, writer, producer and actors and everybody else involved should be crucified for their sins by watching this on an endless loop for the rest of their lives. They of course will want to kill themselves for that reason and no doubt that should you sit through anything more than 3 minutes, will you want to do the same. For real entertainment, fill your time with building a house out of icing sugar in the rain.
Smirnoff Ice is mentioned about three dozen times in this movie; it's even mentioned in the "Evil Alien Conqueror" theme song that's played at the end as the credits roll! For some strange reason, Tori Spelling wasn't originally credited in this movie, although her appearance as Jan is, in my opinion, the only thing that makes this movie worth watching. I've never seen her look anything less than fabulous, but her waist looks particularly long and slender in this movie. Unfortunately, the most skin she shows is her face and arms. Her most sensual and erotic scene is when one of the Evil Alien Conquerors feels up her hairy "unibrow".
Cheesy and low budget. Incredibly cheesy and low budget. Soooooo cheesy and low budget that I had to love it! "B" budget???? How about "Z" budget. But somehow it works for me! Even my 14 and 16 year old nephews loved it and recite lines with deadly accuracy. "I am Croker and I will crush you puny Earthlings!" Where do I find my Smirnoff Ice and univ-brow babes????? Our fearless aliens who visit Earth to accomplish their mission give new meaning to the word "moron." But then again, I found their characters to vaguely remind me of the simple minded aliens in Galaxy Quest. After a while I thought I might see a cameo appearance from Silent Bob and the Jay Meister! If you can find a video store that carries a copy, rent it!
This wasn't the best stupid funny movie I have ever seen, but it was crazy funny when you don't look at it for intellectual quality. I think if you like movies like Napoleon Dynamite, you will like this movie. Yes, it has less than great special effects, but it is funny on the whole. I watched it because a friend of mine told me it was one of the funniest movies of all time. I don't really agree, but it is rather funny.. It is really awesome when the swords are shrunk amazingly small in the process of sending My-ik and Du-ug to Earth. As I said, if you want a movie with awesome cinematography or a movie that really screams Oscar, go and ask your film teacher for a recommendation list.. I am sure that s/he won't give you this movie.. Mine might have though, because she was the stuff.
