Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.

The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.

Troubled police officer Gabriel Goodman (a solid and credible performance by Jon Bennet) finds himself trapped in some kind of bleak apocalyptic world. Several other folks help Gabriel out as he makes a harrowing descent into the abyss. Writer/director Douglas Schulze eschews graphic gore and cheap scares in favor of carefully crafting a extremely dark, eerie, and enigmatic atmosphere which becomes more increasingly grim and despairing as the narrative unfolds towards a truly startling and devastating surprise bummer ending. Moreover, Schulze makes inspired and effective use of familiar gospel songs and delivers plenty of disturbing religious-themed visuals (the shots of empty and abandoned city streets in particular are quite unsettling). Christina Sheldon makes a haunting impression as Gabriel's pregnant wife while Jeff Boerger cuts a freaky and frightening figure as a menacing Dark Angel. Bob Stewart's shivery score hits the spine-tingling spot. The crisp widescreen cinematography by Steven Oatley and Robert Skates provides an appropriately moody look. However, it's the stark presentation of the simple premise which gives this picture an extra jarring and unnerving edge. Recommended viewing for fans of out of the ordinary fright fare.

This was a good deal for the 2.99 I paid for it.It is obvious from the start that this film has no budget, but the crew, actors and director almost overcome that, and at the very least made a pretty atmospheric and mildly creepy low budget spiritual movie. That said, the special effects were really bad when it came to the "angel fight" real disappointing. The rest of the effects were above the level of money that they put into them or had, so cudo's to the crew! The acting was good enough to immerse you into the story and hold your attention for the full 85 min. This is not a great movie, and it is barely good, but for the budget it is watchable and quite interesting.

i think this movie was absolutely terrible. it sucked. especially the part when those 2 retarded angel devil things were fighting and then all of a sudden the one retarded thing got stabbed, it was so stupid.it kept people going to find out whether you should keep watching it to find out if it gets any better, but trust me it doesn't, in fact it gets more stupider.the guy in this movie kept seeing stuff and then he went to this one room, the bathroom, and he saw himself in a stall naked and the room Wu flashing everywhere and the guy was so stupid he doesn't realize there's this naked guy with some symbol on his head in a bathroom, then he tells the creepy naked guy, " come on lets go , the police are here", like what the heck is up with that. anyways this movie sucks!! don't watch it!!

(Minor spoilers.) A police officer Gabriel Goodman wakes up after some trauma to find himself nearly alone in a world, which seems to be in the grips of the Apocalypse, in this interesting reworking of 'An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge.' When your lead character's name is 'Goodman,' you expect the symbols and metaphors to fly fast and furiously and they sure do here! There's nothing wrong with that provided the symbols and metaphors add up to something in the end. Sadly, they don't, and that's the problem with this often interestingly little movie. I applaud writer/director Douglas Schulze's economy and sense of style. He manages to do a great deal with very little. He manages to convey the breath of the Apocalypse with only a handful of characters. The film is also well shot and the special effects are decent. Granted, the action is slow, but it is never boring. Unfortunately, the film falls apart at the end. One never knows what is truly at stake in the climatic conflict? If you're like me, and you've figured out the central conceit from the beginning, you have to wonder whether anything that Goodman can do in the climatic confrontation can change anything? If not, what the point? (Sorry about the vagueness, but I don't want to give everything away.) And that is my final judgment on the film: What was the point? However, I did enjoy this film more than 'Jacob's Ladder,' which tried to do something similar.
