Sorry, this movie sucks
Instant Favorite.
It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
After watching this movie i'm simply amazed with the performance of Mr. Hritik Roshan, Legendary actor Mr. Amitabh Bachan and Mrs. Preety Chinta, Mr. Booman Irani, they all done brilliant Job here, storytelling was superb that going to keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole time. Also the songs in the movie are beautiful. My most Favorite 'Abh kuch Kar ke dekhana hai'. Now the most Important lesson which i took from this movie is how important to have a lakshya in our life and to chase we need to be self-disciplined. so inspiring that every time when i want a boost, i see the whole movie again and again and it still counts as it add something new every time. A must watch movie.
The story of an uncertain young man who eventually finds his Lakshya (Goal). The journey of becoming passionate, and a motivated Indian Army officer from a casual, and a lethargic individual has been told beautifully. The direction, the plot, the songs, and the choreography gel well with the overall theme of the movie. The occasional humor at one or two places in the movie to an otherwise serious story-line is engaging. The Cinematography is aesthetically appealing to the eyes. The several backdrops of the region of the Baramula, and the Kargil are breathtaking. The movie was shot at few places of New Delhi. Tuglakabad fort is one of these places. Being a resident of Delhi, you might find it interesting. The cast and the crew of the movie have many celebrated actors. Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, and Om Puri have done the justice to their characters. Boman Irani could have done better, though. The main character of the movie has been played by Hrithik Roshan. He has been very expressive. The transition of his character from being a very casual human being to a very passionate and a motivated individual has been enacted really well by him. He has danced admirably to justify the amazing choreography of Prabhu Deva.Preity Zinta was elegant in playing a character of a young independent working woman who had a vivid interest in Journalism. Farhan Akhtar has done his job well. You might find it interesting that one of the many background scores employed in this movies has been used in his movie 'Rock-On'. Farhan Akhtar essentially has drawn inspiration from this movie for his upcoming releases.Overall a very balanced and an engaging cinematic experience.
Lakshya is the rarest of the movies which has a beautiful soul. My BF is in the Navy and whenever Lakshya comes on any Movie Channel he watches it without fail. The first time I saw it with my BF, I was laughing, in tears, excited, bewildered, full of adrenaline all at the same time. No other movie has had that kind of effect on my soul till now. My BF quoted the line from "Pretty Woman" and said, "Either you would be touched by this movie and you will be moved else you won't ever learn to love it" just like Edward said to Vivian about Opera, " people's reaction to opera is very dramatic; they either love it or hate it. If they love it, they will always love it. If they don't, they may learn to appreciate it but it will never become a part of their soul." This movie is literally of that caliber. There are so many instances in the movie that are really heavily emotional and at the same time ignite your adrenaline glands and make you proud too. Some such examples are, Intro party of young Lt Karan by Brig Damle where the Brig tells about the legacy of their regiment; when Lt Karan calls up Romila (who had dumped him on learning that he left the academy) and tells her that he has completed his training and not all decisions can be taken by her; when she sees him in the Army Jeep looking all glorious in his combats and oh the pride in his eyes and the bewilderment in the eyes of Romila; emotionally draining last call of Lt Karan to his dad before his mission...there are way so many moments in the movie that would literally cause you goosebumps. It is a must watch movie for all kinds of people. I just wish more such powerful movies are made in Indian cinema. Armed Forces have always been neglected and are only remembered when there is trouble. These kind of movies inspire normal people and remind them of their real heroes defending the borders of the country. Jai Hind
Lakshya fulfills its Lakshya (the target) in every aspect of film making. Be it the script(yet a little slow), direction, acting and cinematography. Unlike other bollywood movies it is a rare combination when masala(spice) mixes with essence. I don't like unnecessary and lip songs in bollywood flicks but this is not the case with it. Nice tunes are composed by shankar ehsaan loy on Javed Akhtar's lyrics. Hrithik's acting is so laudable that it should be praised specially. his body language changes perpetually according to his character. The scenes when he is performing rock climbing are awesome and fascinating. They make us think how could he perform such risky scenes at such as great height. In short, he reflects the innocent bravado of a true Indian soldier. Preity really looks like a journalist. The movie grasps very firmly when the actual war action starts as they are really impressive. Also, this movie has the highest crane shot ever taken in any film. From very beginning of the film the cinematography is enchanting and fascinating. Camera shots are steady and powerful. The look of the film is also very positive unlike other gaudy and out of focus bollywood flicks. A must see for every bollywood lovers and foreigners too, will like it.
