Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Absolutely Fantastic
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
The summary above speaks for itself. Yes, it is another tale of alcoholism. This time it concerns an old fellow, Eddy Asner, a surgeon who drinks really too much, and shows the collateral damages that occur. The problem is that his own son - himself also a surgeon - is a drug addict too. So, father and son are both deep in sh...You have here powerful, dramatic scenes, when you watch the slow destruction process of the entire family. The perfect topic for a TV movie destined to home audiences craving for realistic stuff, miles away from the ones you have in theatres, with super heroes and special, digital effects. It is twenty nine years old, but it remains very modern, as far as this problem - alcohol - will always be a real calamity for people. Strong performances here.
