Best movie of this year hands down!
While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.
The movie was interesting. Far from perfection: mediocre acting, too long, lack of fluency.Anyway it is interesting. I know who or what I am: a being who was born, is living, procreated and then will die. Many people are convinced then there is always an "after" and a "before" because the whole human experience seems to prove this. To me is just a men-centered point of view: we come from nowhere and we end in the same way. Many other people cannot deal with this because they think it is reductive and then they believe in gods who built a human centered universe. ALL religions have to cope with things who go wrong, so they invented EVIL.Evil is a human invention, just like Good and ethics. Another idea shared by many people is that all questions have an answer. This is not true. Not necessarily true.Who am I? What am I doing here? Where do I come from? Where will I go after death? Maybe there is no answer.God existence. God DO exist. If not what are we talking about? Santa Claus exists too. If not, what are children waiting for on Christmas Eve. Numbers DO exist because I use them to count.Atheism, at least MY own kind of, does not deny gods. All gods exist. From Christian gods to Muslim's to Hindu's etc. People are not crazy!I don't BELIEVE that gods' existence can affect MY existence in some way. I do not believe that I have a soul that will survive after my death. I DON'T want a thing like. I want to DIE forever.People are more than 7 billion. World is inherently chaotic and future is unpredictable: who could have predicted European Union in 1945? And Communism fall in the 90s?After all the main them of the movie is correct: there is no answer.
After watching this film one thing I was left with was a feeling of tremendous euphoria, a glowing feeling which lasted well into the next morning. I could not help but think that this collage of events in the lives of 7 genius people in winter DC was realism. Not the harsh gritty realism of 'Taxi Driver', but a different realism. This movie is who we are, as people. This movie chronicles the emotions we may have when confronted with a persistent terrorist who actually understands the world's problems. And the acerbic intelligence of the script is tempered with director Altman's stunning technical virtuosity. The style is very pastiche, and one scene cuts to another, as the title suggests, with reckless abandon. This lends a very fresh and watchable quality to what is by any standards a long film.
If you ask me who was the most talented director working in film today, I'd hesitate for a while. Then I'd look at you and say, "Probably Steven Spielberg'. A lot of film directors in Hollywood who are well-known are overrated (Oliver Stone, Sofia Coppola, Anthony Minghella, etc), but one that is not overrated at all is Tim Chey. The man is obviously a cinematic genius who thrilled and enthralled us with his grim but unimaginably powerful courtroom epic 'Suing the Devil', his still-frightening 'Gone', his severely underrated 'Live Fast, Die Young' and of course, his heart-breaking masterpiece that still remains one of the twenty best films of all time 'GENIUS CLUB'. I can't even begin to describe to you how jazzed I was about this film when I first saw it. After viewing it I have to say I was a bit let down, but I still got what I predicted I'd get going into the theater -- the best film of 2007. Chey challenges our beliefs on justice with his intense but painfully realistic bone-chilling masterpiece. You have to see this movie.
The movie was directed fairly well and all he actors were very good at their roles, however i thought the ending was a twist and wasn't easily expected because of how the movie was going. Most of the movie was predictable but it's the kind of predictable that you want to keep watching because of how the movie flows and brings you into it. I think this movie is great for emotional people. like i said it brings you into the story and the ending credits are pretty cool also. I heard a few people cry at parts of this movies and many people clapped.I think most people will enjoy watching it but only emotional people could really connect to it.This movie really shows the importance of faith and support. If u have a strong family backing n have full faith in yourself then nothing's impossible. It gives u that extra bit of encouragement when u just need to go and push your limits a little more.-kykyd
