Snowfire
A little girl living on an isolated ranch claims to have formed a bond of friendship with a pure white, "wild" stallion. The horse is well known in the area, almost legendary, and supposedly vicious. Is she just making it up, or is she telling the truth? If it's real, isn't it dangerous for her with a "killer" horse? Or is the horse as vicious as he's been portrayed?

Sorry, this movie sucks
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
This is just one of many memorable films that were made back then that continues to bring back joyful memories for me. Growing up, we used to watch Family Classics with Frazier Thomas on WGN TV in Chicago. This was one of the best family oriented programs on television back in the early 60s, at least in my view. I would make sure the channel was tuned in each Sunday evening to see what great gems they were showing that day and this film was one of them. It has made an indelible impression of joyous and heartwarming emotion on my mind and in my heart. I second the comment concerning bring it to DVD and I would gladly pay the asking price for it just to share it with my children.
Funny how you can remember a movie for so long. The song has been in my head since I saw it...and I only saw it once. Now, listening to the music..it's really not THAT good and the acting is not that great and the filming is not that great...and yet...I never forgot it. It left such an impression on me. Like many others I saw this movie as a little girl. Double Feature at the drive-in with The Littlest Hobo. 1958....I was 9. It started my horse craziness...and I've had them all my life. Looking at some of the other reviews and comments. I'm not the only one that dreamed of one day having a horse like Snowfire in my life. How nice to finally see others that can't forget the movie either.
From a mailing list I'm on ... "There is a film buff from San Francisco, Sid Bloomberg, who DOES have SNOWFIRE available for sale in both DVD and VHS formats. (Sorry, it's apparently not available in either PAL or SEC format.) The price - shipping and handling included - is $38.00. So for all those HORSE-SENSE subscribers who are still in search of SNOWFIRE: Here is Mr. Bloomberg's web site, which includes his contact information: http://www.blsinc.com/rarefilms.htm" I have never seen the movie myself so I don't know how good or bad it is. I just figured I would share this info with those that are crazy about the movie SNOWFIRE.
I saw this movie at my grandmothers house when I was very young. I will never forget the title song. "Snowfire was white as the fallen snow, fire was his spirit but man was his foe...." I have been searching for this movie on DVD.... I agree with all the other women who have commented...someone needs to re-release this film. I fell in love with horses because of Snowfire and the love between him and the young girl. My daughter is now a bigger lover than I as she in Veterinary School and wants to be an equine vet. This is a very special movie, and I would like nothing more to get my hands on one. I hope someone out there is listening to all these pleas. A re-make would also be great.
