It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

This film is hilarious. Everything about it is dreadful. From the young gangster's wife who, despite being filthy rich and living in Dover, seems to be unable to make it to her dreamland of France (oooo, I wonder what the people are like over there? What, about an hour away from your house?) to the post production dubbing and disturbingly wooden acting. There isn't a plot. There isn't a soundtrack as they seem to only have the rights to one song. The comedy value sort of makes it worth watching but actually it isn't worth watching, I don't want to take the blame for subjecting you to it. It's also mildly racist, but the waterboarding scene is much funnier than anything I've seen for a long while. The one thing that could make it worse would be the presence of Danny Dyer. But not much.

A harrowing tale of the seedy London underworld, as told thru the eyes of a traumatised army veteran with a fondness for sultry brunettes. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat. i think if i had and criticism there would be 2... The over use of CGI to display the gory violence as well as the almost never ending monologues of 'pete' the club bouncer, it seems his character is only there to reel off page after page of exposition. But they are the only 2 flaws with this masterpiece of modern day cinema. Dave Courtney shines as the gangland boss and its easy to see why Jack Nicholson based his portrayal of Whitey Bulger in 'the departed' on this characterisation, just pure street cool and menacing atmosphere throughout. The soundtrack is rivalled only by the very best of Tarantino, and the cinematography is reminiscent of Oliver Stones greatest works. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to know what its like to be on the wrong side (or maybe the right side?) of the law in this country. For those about to watch this, may god grant you the brain capacity to deal with its intrinsic plots and riveting storyline

In the annals of cinema failure, ladies and gentlemen I present to you the most accomplished of them all. In virtually every aspect this mammoth farce of a film shocks the viewer to the core. At no point are any of the actors, and I use the term 'actors' loosely here, believable or appear interested in being in the film. The camera work is deranged, the dialogue as cheesier than a cheesy wotsit and the plot as about as interesting as cutting your garden lawn with nail clippers. A cringe fest that makes nay sense. Those that have given this garbage full marks are either related to, or friends of the film makers and the cast or simply chavs that expect the very basics when it comes to movie entertainment and would Cool As Ice a milestone in film making. I hope the 'dodgy one' stops thinking he's a top OG and begin to act, yes act, his age and station in life. However, as others have mentioned, a big shout out to Pete who stole the show with his gnashers.

The camera work is pretty good, high quality in fact. The film looks very professionally shot, don't listen to people who say otherwise.Dave himself is on great form - Honestly he's worth the ticket price alone as aging but still formidable, charismatic psycho with a fondness for nine irons and hot, trophy wives.Nigel St Lewis who has no lines yet manages to absolutely terrify as mute, smiling psycho, particularly in the (probably best scene of the movie) set to 80's classic Je Taime... moi non plus. It draws parallels with Layer cakes ordinary world scene but blows that out of the water. You'll never listen to Serge Gainsbourg the same way again.Bad points - Many times the film felt very contrived. Bad writing both in terms of plot structure and dialogue. Some of the actors honestly were just reading the lines. At times it was bad it was jarring, to the point you just can't suspend your disbelief. There's a lot of things wrong with FEB - But you don't buy a fiesta and expect a Ferrari. It never pretends to be Oscar bait and damn it it is (sometimes unintentionally) fun. All I'm saying is that if you locked Dave and Nigel in a room with a decent Director, a good script and a budget then you'd really have a movie!
