Thanks for the memories!
To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
MSP really missed a great opportunity with this one. The premise is great: days of our youth; enjoying the days when we were carefree; when little mattered. Unfortunately the theme never really carried through, aside from the cut scenes with narration. The sequence with Cody, Banks and Richard, where they were just having fun, is the highlight of the film. The James Heim sequence was completely out of place and belonged in a different film. At the 3/4 point, the film tries to redeem itself with a nice park montage showing the progression from the days of our youth to adulthood and back again. Why is the Cody skiing the crack POV sequence not part of the main film and only shown in the credits!?! Seriously, WTF!? In the end, this movie feels like it was a series of ski scenes left over from previous MSP films. I'm a big MSP fan, but I am seriously disappointed in this effort.
