It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

Let me start off this review by giving my condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Joan "Chyna" Laurer. Hearing the sad news today about her passing on 4/20/2016 really does shake me to my core. I didn't see many of her matches, but she was and still is a very important figure in wrestling. So Chyna, I am dedicating this review to you. It may not be much, but it's all I can do right now to honor you. You really were "The Ninth Wonder of the World".First Match: Chris Benoit and William Regal vs Batista and Ric Flair. A great starter, you have a hot crowd, three veterans, an up-and-coming powerhouse, and Eugene is nowhere to be seen. The chemistry between Regal and Benoit is so good, it's a mystery to me why they didn't team together more. Either way, a really great start to the show. Rating: 4/5 Second Match: Trish Stratus vs Victoria, WWE Women's Championship. I love both of these girls, they knew how to be both beautiful and good wrestlers. The match may be pretty short, and the finish doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I enjoyed the match nonetheless. Rating: 3/5Third Match: Tyson Tomko vs Steven Richards. This match has no reason to exist, at all. It's a slow beat down that has no real pay off to it, because nobody cared about the scenario in the first place. I don't mind a beat down, but this is just slow and boring. At least it's short. Rating: 1.5/5 Fourth Match: Chris Jericho vs Christian, Ladder match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship. A very good one-on-one ladder match. It manages to avoid what I feel is the hardest obstacle to overcome in these types of matches, the slow pace. See, in tag team ladder matches, there is always someone doing something, but one-on-one ladder matches can suffer from being too slow, because there's only two guys. But Christian and Jericho keep the pace going, and the match never slows down. Rating: 4/5 Fifth Match: Shawn Michaels vs Kane, No DQ match. Very few people know how to sell a beating better than Shawn Michaels. Despite their differing styles, Michaels and Kane are good opponents in this. Kane really does feel like a monster in this, and Shawn has to dig down deep in order to win. They may have still been doing the "wife" Lita storyline, but the match made up for it. Rating: 4/5 Sixth Match: Tajiri and Rhyno vs La Résistance, World Tag Team Championships. Tajiri and Rhyno actually make a pretty good team. The crowd loves seeing La Résistance get beat up, and to their credit, they do a good job of selling it. The ending is pretty weak though. Rating: 3/5 Seventh Match: Randy Orton vs HHH, World Heavyweight Championship. There are very few things I like less in wrestling than someone winning a title, only to then immediately lose it. It happened earlier this year with Zack Ryder, and it happened here with Randy Orton. To his credit though, Orton doesn't give up without a fight, but it's still a pretty deflating ending to Orton making history the previous month. Thankfully, it wouldn't be the last time Orton became World Champion, and the match is a really good brawl until the interference starts. Rating: 3.5/5 Final Rating: 7 out of 10. A good follow up to Summerslam, even if it ends on a pretty sour note with Evolution stealing the title from Orton, but look on the bright side, Evolution's gonna break up three months after this. Also, avoid Tomko and Richards' "match" at all costs. If you can even call it a match.R.I.P. Chris Benoit & R.I.P. Chyna

When I first watched this I thought that this pay per view wasn't really bad, it was way better that the previous Raw PPV event {Vengeance}.FIRST MATCH- CHRIS BENOIT & WILLIAM REGAL VS. BATISTA & RIC FLAIR A nice opener to the PPV. Great action from all four men. Benoit & Regal win after Benoit makes Ric Flair tap out to the Crossface. 5/10 SECOND MATCH- VICTORIA VS. TRISH STRATUS W/ TYSON TOMKO FOR THE WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Not bad for a Diva's match. Trish & Victoria know all their moves when they are in the ring together. Trish retains her title after Victoria slammed Tyson Tomko down in the ring, but turned around only to get a Chick Kick from Trish. 4/10 THIRD MATCH- CHRIS JERICHO VS. Christian IN A LADDER MATCH FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Not a bad Ladder match as both Christian & Chris Jericho took great risks to do whatever they could to get the IC belt first. But unfortunately Chris Jericho got it first & became the new IC Champion. 5/10 FOURTH MATCH- KANE W/ LITA VS. SHAWN MICHAELS IN A NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH Man Kane matches are seriously getting boring. Shawn Michaels makes the match more better. Shawn Michaels wins after a Sweet Chin Music to defeat Kane much to the delight of Lita. 4/10 FIFTH MATCH- LA RESISTANCE VS. RHYNO & TAJIRI FOR THE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Not bad but it sucks to see La Resistance get the win again. 4/10 SIXTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. TRIPLE H FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Both men did well to pull a great wrestling match. Orton dominated most part of the match which led HHH to have a busted up face. Later in the match the referee got knocked down, which led Batista, Ric Flair & also Jonathan Coachman to come in the ring but Orton fought all of them off. The distraction was perfect for HHH who nailed a Pedigree for the win to get back his World Title which he lost months back at Wrestlemania XX. 5/10 Not a bad pay per view at all, still it was a bit slow some of the matches but this PPV event may be just inches away better than Raw's previous PPV event Vengeance.Overall: I'll give it a 6/10 & a D+

I picked up this DVD last Saturday. The next day, Eddie Guerrero passed away. What a shock that was. In a way, I'm glad that he isn't featured in this PPV (although he can be seen in some of the promos), because it would be uncomfortable (to say the least) to watch him in action right now. Rest in peace, Eddie.1) Batista and Ric Flair vs. Chris Benoit and William Regal. Not bad, but too long for an opener. And don't you think Ric Flair should retire gracefully just about now? Aren't there any talented young guys for WWE to pick up anymore? **1/2 2) Victoria vs. Trish Stratus (for the women's title). Victoria's strength and Trish's technique make for a pretty good and even matchup, but it could have been even better. **1/2 3) Tyson Tomko vs. "The Mystery Woman" (Steven Richards). OK, this is a waste of time, but there is some fun in watching Tomko beat the crap out of Richards. Thankfully, this was the only "comic relief" match of the night. *1/24) Chris Jericho vs. Christian. A ladder match for the intercontinental title. I'll give both men credit for the amount of physical punishment they take here, but the match itself is VERY draggy. **5) Shawn Michaels vs. Kane. No disqualifications. Brutal but sluggish. What's more, the Kane / Lita / Matt Hardy storyline is distasteful and disrespectful to everyone involved, especially Lita, who deserves to be IN the ring wrestling instead of outside playing the terrorized wife. **6) La Resistance vs. Tajiri and Rhyno (for the tag team title). Only the disappointing ending keeps this match, which probably has more pure technique involved in it than any other in this PPV, from a *** rating. Tajiri uses his legs about as well as Rey Mysterio, and Rhyno seems like a guy who is full of energy and means business. **1/2 7) Triple H vs. Randy Orton (for the heavyweight title). Two thirds of a good main event. Orton is either a very good actor or he really is in a lot of pain as HHH works on his left leg most of the time. But Orton is quite resourceful in his own right, and executes a variety of moves on HHH. It's all very intense, until Batista and Ric Flair interfere and turn it into a handicap 3-on-1 (4-on-1 if you count "The Coach", but I don't) match (the referee gets knocked out and misses all of this, of course). I understand why this had to be done (this way, Orton loses but still comes out as the winner in the ethical sense), but it's still a cheat. **1/2

Unforgiven was not good, but not bad either. The Ladder Match stands out from the other matches. Much better than Vengeance.Match 1: Chris Benoit & William Regal vs. Batista & Ric Flair.I honestly can't rate this match. I really didn't have the chance to order the pay-per-view, so i bought on DVD. And since there is nothing interesting about watching Flair & Regal wrestle, i skipped to the next match.Rating: No rating.Match 2: Trish Stratus vs. Victoria. Women's Championship.Booooring! The crowd falls asleep halfway into this match. Not a good match. I almost fell asleep too. Victoria's Gutbuster was the highlight of the match. Trish retains.Rating: 1/5Match 3: Tyson Tomko vs. "The Mystery Woman" (Steven Richards)After Tomko tried to attack Victoria the "Mystery Woman" from the last RAW episode made the save. Tomko gets mad and orders a match. And i wish he didn't. My god, this match match was so bad i can't find the words for it. Crowd still asleep. Tomko spends the entire match trying to tear the wig of the "Mystery Woman" and after five minutes we get to know that the woman was Steven Richards. What the!? Five minutes later, Tomko hits an impressive finisher for the three-count. FINALLY!Rating: 0/5Match 4: Christian vs. Chris Jericho. Ladder Match Intercontinental Championship. Finally, the crowd wakes up. Me too. This is the match of the year, no doubt. Both Jericho and Christian makes some amazing stunts. In the end, Jericho wins after a Bulldog from the ladder. Impressive! Rating: 5/5 Match 5: Shawn Michaels vs. Kane. No DQ Match. The build-up for this match is decent. So is the match. HBK makes his return from a crushed throat caused by Kane. (At Taboo Tuesday, Kane gets his throat crushed by Snitsky). Pretty predictable. Everyone knows that HBK is going to win, because he is making his comeback. And as i said, HBK hits the Sweet Chin Music on Kane after Lita prevents Kane from using a chair.Rating: 3/5 Match 6: La Resistance vs. Rhyno & Tajiri. World Tag Team Championship.Usual tag team match-up. The heels dominate one guy (the smallest of the faces) and after a series of tags by the heels, the faces finally makes the tag. Rhyno clears the ring and if this was a normal tag match the faces would of won. But of course it's for the Tag Championship, so the heels win. Extremely predictable.Rating: 2/5 Match 7 (main event): Randy Orton vs. Triple H. World Heavyweight Championship.Seven months after this match, the feud is still on. This match is like the tag team match, extremely predictable. Evolution interferes, as usual. While Orton fends them off, Triple H recovers and then hits the Pedigree to pick the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H once again wins via Evolution.Rating: 3/5Good: Main event/Jericho vs. Christian is a match of the year candidate Bad: Tomko vs. Richards = Total Crap/ Women's match. And of course, the fact that i had to skip 18 minutes of the entire show.Unforgiven rating: 3/5
