When a string of missing children cases are yet to be solved, a private detective and his partner are the last hopes for the families. Quickly, everyone in town becomes a suspect, even local Vietnam veteran Jeff Brown for living close to the crime scene. Mark is certain his partner is leading them to yet another dead end, another unsolved case. Has detective Paul’s judgement been affected by his obsession to solve the mystery, or is something much more sinister going on? Just perfect...
I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
