In the aftermath of the terrible Civil War which has devastated the South, Amanda America Dixon returns home to find she has become the sole heir to a vast cotton plantation. Very disappointed :(
It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
