There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Sometime in the future, Dr. Rogen(Brian Lewis) has successfully completed building a heart made of solid gold and according to him it "pumps 3 times the amount of blood as a standard artificial heart". Also during this time, a hooker(Sarah Lewis) is trying to leave the business and start a new life, but her pimp(Brad Jones) won't let her. She eventually runs away and is accidentally hit by Dr. Rogen's car. The only way to save her is to transplant the heart of gold into her. From there, a bunch of stuff happens: the death of her pimp, her friend(Jillian Zurawski) becoming a sex slave, assassins hired to kill her, and one of her patients(Ryan Mitchelle) trying to prove his love for her. As you'd expect from the title, this is not a movie that you should take seriously. Don't expect this to become the next Citizen Kane or Shawshank Redemption, this is a movie that needs to be watched solely as a popcorn movie, just sit back and enjoy it. The plot is stupid, the acting is mediocre, the special effects are bad, the flowing of the story makes no sense...and that's why it's fun. This movie was made by a guy who reviews movies for a living and the actors are his friends who haven't had a single acting class. Because of this, the movie is only view able online and it is done beautifully in 5 parts. If you love the cinema snob and want to go looking for something just to enjoy and not worry about plot details, this movie is definitely for you.

Look, you don't watch Hooker with a Heart of Gold to get something that will change the form of cinema or even push exploitation cinema into another stratosphere. It's a dude who spends 10 grand (not on the song rights for sure, but hey, why carp, soundtrack kicks ass) on bringing what he loves - feisty and smart hookers, sleazy pimps, uh, nice-guy hapless "mad" doctors - and pushes it with a lot of attitude. It certainly helps to already be a fan of the Cinema Snob website, not just the videos he does in character (it's all mostly exploitation films and porn), but the midnight screenings where you get to see the various actors (Sarah, Brian, Ryan, Jerrid, etc) as themselves. Seeing this movie after years of watching those videos is like watching your friends make a movie: what it lacks in technical polish (and yeah, it lacks a lot) is made up for with a tight script and some decent editing from Brad Jones (also writer/director).Oh, and speaking of Jones, he's having the time of his life as Zalman the pimp. He comes with a big greasy black wig, and his voice is tuned to be like Jack Nicholson in full-on villain mode (or just, you know, Nicholson mode), and he's clearly having the time of his life in this part. The story isn't all on him - it's a genre blend of Frankenstein sci-fi and a sleaze fest drenched in 70s and 80s disco and rock ("Couldn't See the Light" is what plays as the 'gold heart' is implanted) - and Sarah Lewis is fun to watch as the lead. Everyone is an amateur here, but mostly everyone delivers the dialog with some level of conviction and it's certainly a BIG step above the kinds of movies its giving homage to!So if you dig seeing this kind of lo-fi ultra-low-budget filmmaking, with a soundtrack that makes it impossible to ever be an official release, and a cast that works well together and have a lot of charm to how they play off each other. It's certainly never boring, and occasionally it's funny and genuinely clever.

It's one of those so corny that it's enjoyable type movie. It knows what it is and takes advantage of how ridiculous it is over a course of five episodes put together to create one whole movie. The acting is mixed. Some of it's decent, some of it's passable, and the rest is just cringingly bad, but that's what makes it so much fun. Most of the actors give decent enough performances to create somewhat likable characters and make the rest of the movie worthwhile. The director of the movie Brad Jones plays two roles and there both just....so bad. His first character is a pimp who collects old unheard of VHS tapes and Nintendo games, it sort of comes off as a Nicolas Cage type performance where he flips out and acts like a freaking nut case all the time. The second character is a dude with an eye patch seeking revenge, I wont tell you what he's getting revenge for to avoid spoilers but he's basically just a...guy with an eye patch. He also talks in this annoying snarl that makes the viewers cringe because of how stupid it sounds, and he never moves his teeth.Anybody who has seen any of Brad Jones' earlier work knows that his lighting for his movies suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! It's only improved slightly here, sometimes you can't even see who's talking or what's happening.Overall, it's stupid, over the top, campy fun with some delightfully cheesy acting and writing that contains that feel of every other Brad Jones movie. But there's one thing that I didn't care for in particular, the ending. I really couldn't wait to see what kind of ending this was going to throw at us, I thought that it would end on a really sad note with Dr. Rogen (The doctor) holding the hooker in his arms crying and giving some stupid, cheesy speech to her. But no, all it is is just a poorly edited bullet fest with a crappy scene ripped straight out of Reservoir Dogs afterwords. It's a great mini series that you should definitely check out, just don't expect a very good ending.

The Internet is a haven for independent films makers; some are good and some are not worth even talking about. Then there is Brad Jones a fan favorite on thatguywiththeglasses.com; Hid Cinema Snob character has created quite a large fan base, so naturally when he released his mini movie "The Hooker With A Heart Of Gold" his fans where exited. The basic plot of the movie is a out of work surgeon is approached by crime boss Steele and gives him money to fund a project his been working on, Steele tells Dr.Rogen (the surgeon) that one day he might need a favor in return.Sure enough that one day comes and Steele is indeed of medical treatment after a battle. Rogen saves Steele's life but Steele has gone even crazier then he already was, losing his eye and now wearing a prosthetic hand. One night Rogen is driving a long the road and accidentally runs over a prostitute, he takes her back to his basement he's renting and begins using the experimental golden heart that Steele's money had help fund.Soon the hooker and Rogen learn they both have the same enemies after them and begin to fall in love and work together to get rid of Steele and his gang once and for all, this is a must see movie for all Brad Jones fans.
