Brilliant and touching
It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
In accordance with the Wikipedia, the Down syndrome is a congenital disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 21st chromosome and discovered by the British physician John Langdon Haydon Down (1828-1896). People with Down syndrome usually have mild to moderate mental retardation, short stature, small chin, round face and oval eyes. I believe most of people is only aware of these physical characteristics and is layman in this subject.The director and writer Evaldo Mocarzel has made a documentary with a look without prejudice in the Down syndrome, exposing families and individuals with Down syndrome. It is heartbreaking to see parents disclosing their experiences from the moment the doctors tell that their babies have Down syndrome and how they supersede their initial rejection by the feeling of the motherhood and parenthood. But the most important, Evaldo shows how the patients with Down may succeed in their lives, dancing, practicing sports, reading and even loving and getting married. This awarded documentary is a lesson of life and has opened my mind to understand much more about the reality of these special individuals and their families.
