Good concept, poorly executed.

Best movie ever!

A bit overrated, but still an amazing film

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

First of all when I watched Jalangkung, I really impressed with the lighting that Rizal Mantovani has been designed. But In Tusuk Jalangkung, that kind of lighting got me bored to see it. Why you put flaring lights effect in the background in almost every scene? I don't get it. If you want to dramatize it, I think it didn't really work. Because even in the decent scene, you put that kind of effect. But honestly I really appreciate that kind of hard work to make it, though. For Story : - I tell u that TJ is having bad story (Jalangkung is even better-especially at the opening - kind of dramatize opening scene, i like that). The connectivity of the story between each scene sometime doesn't make sense.For example there is Rea's boyfriend car accident scene. His car is hitting a bus (which I don't know where the bus from?). In the next scene Visi enters that bus and walks in the aisle. Doesn't she just got an accident and his friend supported her to another car? - Why you put a love story between Sammy & Visi and put a scene when Sammy want to kiss her. It really doesn't make sense. When you feel afraid, is that possible you can still feel in love to somebody?I think you have to focus to still frame this movie just to the horror side, though! For writing : - I found some dialogues (a lots) which is in fact should not needed at all, because the picture just you just shown is already represent it. For example when Rea calls his boy friend and tell him about her frighten experience in the bathroom, I think she doesn't have to tell him every single detail of her experience, because the audience know what exactly happening to her. So, it's a kind of double information in the dialogue. So overall, TJ is boring Indonesian horror movie I've ever seen, no dramatize scene at all (I even got sleepy when saw it), but the picture is about the same quality with Jalangkung, but lil bit too much flare light effects.

best horror movie i've ever seen. even compare to hollywood good movie like "the others", or japanese "the ring". and absolutely better than the original

When i asked by my cousin to see this movie in cinema,i was doubtful.because,the first edition was so dissapointed and very bad.But,now i feel very satisfied and love that great action thriller horror.it's very kind of different atmosphere horror movie.i was shocking and surprisingly also screaming all over the movie.Beautiful landmark cinematic,stunning director and great performance by the stars.you'll have to watch...you'll love it!America and hollywood should see this movie....

When I watched Jelangkung (2002) I couldn't help but feel frustrated about the bad music, the bad camerawork, and the terrible acting.Beside that I kept on laughing, cause it wasn't scary at all, even though all the teenagers behind me kept on screaming like crazy.Nevertheless, it was a box-office hit no one could ignore, and the makers of the movie decided to invest the fresh earned money in a sequel.Tusuk Jelangkung (2003) is deffinately a sequel that is better than the first one. The story continues and explains more about what happened when the little boy was killed for being suspected to be posessed by an evil spirit. During the movie you first think it is one gigantic commercial for Honda (The Japanese car indeed), Clear (shampoo), Telkom (handphones/phoneservice) and alike, but at the end you realize it is a movie after all.Let not forget to give credit to the cinematography. It is really great, and that makes it worth to watch this movie. Cause the acting doesn't reach any higher level than in the first movie, and the music is often louder than the actor's voices. But in general, camerawork, decor, sound and editing is much better, and therefore not 1 out of 10 (like with the first one), but 5 out of 10.
