Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

Review above is pure fascist propaganda and historical revisionism! Claiming that "There was no resistance against the Germans in Zagreb" is an outrageous ignorance and reveals authors background. Serbian fascist, obviously. In fact, there was no resistance in Belgrade. Oh, there was in films and serials later ;)They were brilliant on screen. In Zagreb, on the other hand, resistance was the strongest and the biggest in all Europe! Very first urban antifascist armed action took place in a City of Zagreb. Check all this yourself! Then we have this line: "The film depicts an event that never happened."What a lie!!! First of all, this film is not about resistance against the Germans at all! It's about response of Zagreb's youth to infamous Nazi racial law, implemented by Croatian fascists called "Ustashas", who indeed had their play with so called "Independent State of Croatia". But, the majority of Croats and citizens of Croatian capitol Zagreb were on the other side! On a Partisan side, antifascist, yes, communist resistance! This film is based on a very true story about heroic resistance of high school students who disobeyed fascist order to separate from their Jewish and Serbian colleagues and on a very true story of burning down the stadium where it all happened. Here are the REAL NAMES of Union of Young Communists of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) members, who performed that legendary action, in June of 1941.: Martin Mojmir (leader), Krešo Rakić, Stanko Bronzin, Braco Belić, Gvozden Budak, Ljubo Šarić, Štef Mlinarić, Boris Triglavčan and Rajka Baković. Some of them were caught by fascist agents, savagely tortured and killed. This great film is based on facts, dear friends! Yes, the authors have taken the liberty to combine two events into one. Big deal! Both events took place. However, it's a very good film by Academy Award Winner Dušan Vukotić and prominent Jewish publisher, editor and writer Slavko Goldstein. They both are of those nationalities that were persecuted in WW II. Wouldn't they know how it was? All recommendations for this film, not only because I'm a grandson of resistance member, but because it's really worth watching!

This movie has nothing to do with the truth. The entire film is a post-war communist propaganda. There was no resistance against the Germans in Zagreb. On the contrary, the citizens of Zagreb and then, so-called, fascist state, the "Independent State of Croatia" were delighted with the Germans. The main aim was to exterminate all Jews, Serbs and other non Croats. After the war, Tito and the communists completely erase the Croatian participation on Trilateral Pact for a fictional brotherhood and unity of the Yugoslav peoples. Croatian crimes are forgotten, and the Croats were transferred from the losers side on the winner side. To reiterate. The film depicts an event that never happened.
