The vocational school director Katharina (Anja Kling) loves her demanding and demanding job, which she approaches with humor and empathy. When the desperate mother (Johanna Gastdorf) of 18-year-old Cathleen (Andrea Guo), who has moved in with her boyfriend on her own, shows up and looks for help, Katharina pledges her support. Especially since the young woman's boyfriend is one of her students and is about to take her final exam. But just then, a new guest lecturer, the food blogger and globetrotter Erik (Oliver Mommsen), radios in between her - without realizing what serious family problems are in the background.
