Wonderful Movie
One of my all time favorites.
hyped garbage
An Exercise In Nonsense
This film is enjoyable to watch with great direction from Sam Raimi. The performances are all great, the action scenes are awesome and the score is easily the best Spiderman score. The green goblin is a great villain played very well by Willem Dafoe and is a standout in the film. Some of the visual effects look a bit silly and the overall look of the film isn't great in my opinion but it is still a good film and my second favourite Spiderman film.
Spider-man is really corny and cheesy and there are some bad scenes in the film and cg hasn't aged really well but the film has a style that makes the movie look like a comic book, toby did a good job playing as spider-man and willem dafoe as the green goblin is great in thats movie, the film develops peter and harry relationship and it changes over the movie, mary jane was just a boring love interest but i like that peter reject her so theres that, overall its an enjoyable fun movie
This is a great movie. It has a great story line. It also has great acting. It so mush better then V for vendetta. This a great work of art. It is a classic. It is one of the best movies ever.
Spider-Man works because of its focus on the vulnerable nature of human relationships and not necessarily its few but very emotionally intense action sequences. There is an attractive balance here and a plot not offering too much explosions and try-hard dialogue which in my opinion is way too common in this genre. The comedic parts feels spontaneous and not overstuffed like in many other similar movies. The casting is in my opinion perfect. Tobey Maguire really gives Peter Parker this honest tenderness and sensitivity which seemed very believable and frankly quite endearing at times. This is especially evident when sharing screentime with the lovely Kirsten Dunst. The chemistry between these two were really something! The webaction in this is the greatest I've seen in any movie about Spider-Man. The beautiful emotional dance of Peter Parker swinging through the city with the gravitional effects making it look like he actually has to make an effort jumping about is a treat to watch. It looks quite realistic to me. This was for some reason (?) not replicated in the two sequels where it instead looked visually unappealing in its CGIness in my opinion. The greatest superhero movie for me after Batman Begins. I unfortunately don't enjoy the critically acclaimed sequel Spider-Man 2 (2004) as much even though that one is pretty good as well. What Raimi really got right in the first two movies were the drama and the dialogue between the characters, the action to me was never the center of this movie despite its superhero title. So all in all, a great emotional drama with relatable, likeable and believable characters mixed with some spontaneous humoristic elements and some beautiful actionscenes which never felt tiring or overdone. A classic in my book.
