I wanted to but couldn't!
Fresh and Exciting
Absolutely the worst movie.
It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Watched the film for the first time yesterday - loved it, absolutely mental, breathtaking design for the creatures, costumes, ships, sets, everything! Fantastic cast (special praise to Gary Oldman as Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg, the greatest character in all of fiction IMHO), great effects and music, definitely one of my all-time favourite films.BTW, anyone else think this was an influence on Logan? The cabbie finds a genetically engineered young woman who doesn't speak English (at first) and takes her to a crazy old prophet and his gangly, pale sidekick to learn that the girl has the future of humanity resting on her shoulders, all the while being pursued by a southern gentleman with ridiculous hair and an army of gun-toting mercs? No? Just me, then.
This is one of my most favourite films of all time. It has a magic that is hard to describe. One of the funniest films ever, my family and I watch it over and over, and we still have hysterics over many of the funny lines delivered by Gary Oldman, Bruce Willis and Chris Tucker. It never takes itself seriously, which is one of the main drawpoints, the actors are brilliant.Truly a masterpiece
One of the most classic sci-fi/post-apocalyptic movies. Great in every way.
This film has given me very much. For me it's nostalgic to watch since I've seen it 100+ times with my sister, learned about mystics, laughed and cried. For me, it's a film filled with what a lot of people go through with their relationships, beliefs, personal development "in real life" - all in an epic sci-fi. The comedy is a big unload of the heavy meanings that you CAN find between the lines. It's a classic saga about finding love, fight for love, fight against evil forces that desires death and destruction, being compassionate and caring for others."You can only be strong alone for a while, to succeed, you need help!"
