Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

Like I said before, I don't see the point in making live-action versions of cartoons...All those lame adaptations are ugly and unappealing, and always fail to capture the essence of the animated works in which are inspired. At best, those movies could only capture the most shallow and pragmatic aspects of the source material. This movie is the ultimate proof of that being one of the most shallow, dull and uninspired films ever made, lacking the sarcastic sense of humor which made Garfield popular in first place. My advice is to skip this and watch "Garfield and Friends". This is just stupid and boring.0/10 (And I would rate it with a negative score if I could)

I was an 11-year old kid at elementary school and I've watched this with some friends I made on a DVD copy from my teacher. I thought, "Hey. This may not be so bad." While the movie did caught my interest, I had pretty low expectations because I think that this is a mediocre adaptation of the comic strip that I've read once. Not terrible, but could've been much better.The story is thin as paper for containing a lot of plot holes. Bill Murray tries with the best material as the title character, but came across as monotonous and the villain played by Stephen Tobolowsky, while entertaining, didn't convince me at all and so is Breckin Meyer as Jon, the owner. The jokes will make kids laugh, but adults won't find them funny, I think.There are some redeeming qualities including Odie the dog. Jennifer Love Hewitt is great as Liz, the love interest for Jon due to her personality and beauty. The locations for the film are excellent too and while not hilarious, there are some funny moments with Garfield especially in the beginning of the film and the air-duct scene. The CGI on Garfield are decent too and the dialog seemed OK-ish.Overall, not great, but could have been better!

Garfield is a great family movie with great humor and a good storyline.Garfield is without a doubt my favorite comic strip character,I would usually read him at the back off the paper and I also use to love the series,I think that Bill Murray definitely had the perfect voice for Garfield.This movie shows you the origin of how Odie and Grfield first met,showing that Garfields owner John got the dog off Liz and Garfield being very jealous at the start.After John takes Odie to a dog show.A man called Happy Chapman wants to use Odie to advertise his dog products,Odie gets out of the house one night and goes missing and Happy Chapman finds him and does exactly what he had planned to do.Garfield see's Odie on TV but John and Liz are unaware,Garefield decides to head on a journey to save the dog who he realizes he is missing.
