Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but I couldn't disagree more with HorrorWriter7493's opinion and "review". First of all, growing up in a Christian family doesn't make one Christian. We need more movies like this one in the media, and I am thankful that over the last decade, they are increasing. Watching this movie ten years ago, was like watching my real-life marriage unfold in front of me. It gave me hope that my husband could turn from his abusive ways, turn to God fully, and we could come out on top. Unfortunately, my bipolar, abusive, alcoholic, cussing-loving, belligerent and adulterous (ex)spouse was more interested in living his life with his spirits and how he wanted to live it (claiming the whole way that he was a Christian), than to actually change and turn in his baggage for true happiness. It is truly heart-breaking that people everyday are more willing to stay in their mess than to get freed and do the work to change for the better. I say that to say this, we have enough cussing, violence, horror in real life and in movies already. To say that these types of movies prey on Christians to "make money off of them", and that this movie is for those who "have not encountered anything truly wounding to them" is a gross misstatement. I have lived through some horrible times, and a terribly wounding marriage. I do not cuss, nor appreciate that type of language. I would much rather spend my money on movies like Fireproof, than on the movies that have cussing and worldly responses to life situations in them. I look to God to help me with life's decisions, and getting out of abuse was one of the biggest and hardest situations I have encountered. I already know the world's ideas of responding to situations, and do not need more movies like those that HorrorWriter indicated in his review - no thank you! This movie shows how life can be when we do the work and become free from our baggage.I loved this movie, and thought that everyone did an excellent job with their acting, especially for those who may have not acted before (or may not have acted in a mainstream movie before). I appreciated the non-worldly view of how to handle a difficult marriage, and God's options for deliverance, repentance, and reconciliation.

I loved this movie. It is one of change. Change from not keeping the marriage covenant to being faithful.Change from thinking about yourself first to putting others first.It shows the heartache of a marriage that has problems and the heartache of trying to mend those problem. It also shows the joy that can come from love.It shows how destructive lust and infidelity can be to a marriage.There are so many things I love about this movie.**Talking points - Is viewing pornography being unfaithful to your spouse and your marriage? Does selfishness lead to greater selfishness? Does kindness lead to love? Can people change? Can love that is lost be rebuilt? Can trust that is lost be reestablished? What are you doing now that weakens your marriage and makes your marriage vulnerable? What can you do to protect your marriage? What can you do to mend your marriage?

Fireproof is about a fireman named Caleb who is involved in a failing marriage and his wife Catherine,a Public Relations officer in a hospital,is already headed towards a divorce considering she is headed towards a new relationship with his good looking doctor and co-worker,Gavin.This Christian film starring Kirk Cameron and Erin Bethea by director Alex Kendrick tells a story of how a marriage headed towards a divorce is about to be saved with the help of God as Caleb tries to give the marriage another try with the use of the Bible- based experiment called "Love Dare".This happens to be a 40-day challenge wherein Caleb tries to do things to make his make his wife renew his affections towards him.Will the marriage work one more time when it seems that Caleb's wife seems uninterested at all? How much will Caleb persevere in his effort?Well,the questions will obviously be answered in a positive note knowing that God is involved being a Christian movie.Nevertheless,it still managed to provide lots inspiration especially for young couples who are experiencing the same condition that Caleb and Catherine are facing in real life.Caleb's determination to save the marriage will provide a good example especially for young men out there.Also,having God on your side will also make the viewer realize how much support one receives from him.

This is a movie that my husband and I come back to over and over and recommend to others. Anyone who is married and going through trials, or knows someone who is, needs to watch this movie, as well as anyone considering marriage now or in the future. It will make you laugh, cry, and cheer, and hopefully convict you to fix what is wrong in your own marriage and to "never leave your partner behind in a fire". And, if you are up for the challenge, find a copy of "The Love Dare" as it is illustrated in the movie, and DO IT!!!
