Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
A lot can be said about the plot. A normal girl suddenly decides to chase and apprehend criminals for money without any previous experience in fighting or handling guns. I mean seriously!! And on top of that the guy she is chasing is the guy she lost her virginity to, can this be any more cheesy! And she should've been killed multiple times in this movie. The acting was just par. I love Katherine but those almost nude scenes felt absolutely unnecessary. I obviously enjoyed the display of this beautiful lady's body but still unnecessary. In my opinion this is a just OK comedy, watch it at your own risk.
Well done, well paced. Read all of the books. Really glad to see it brought to life. The only problem was with "Grandma" who was too young and not eccentric enough and too glamorous. Everybody has character anticipation when the book moves to the screen. Katherine Heigl was perfect for the part. The movie flowed and hung together. The characters were funny and unique, easily likable and memorable. There was chemistry between the characters, that was obvious. Compared to the long list of throw-away movies flooding the market these days, it was like a breath of fresh air. I always like movies about Jersey, and this one a great one. It didn't take itself too seriously, and portrayed the area, the accents, the locals the eccentricity to a tee. An easy movie to watch and enjoy.
Honestly, I think that the reviews were too harsh on Katherine Heigl (Stephanie)'s movie outside of her role on Grey's Anatomy. She's a seasoned television actress but the movie role becomes her. This is the second time, actually, that I watched this movie. Debbie Reynolds (as the Grandma Mazur) and Sherri Shepherd (as Lula) add great comedic highlights. Thinking that most folks can identify being unemployed and looking for a new job -- anything to pay the bills (although we really don't want anything), it was a blessing to find her friend at one of the places she was applying for a file clerk role and the friend was a true friend (altough she didn't recognize her) by giving her a better role at the company. Just goes to show that we all do have friends in "low" places (in places that we least expect them to be). The new role, a "cheesy" type of bounty hunter, sends her on quite an adventure with a spark of banter and romance. She takes her role seriously and tackles them with "grace". Well worth the repeat view. Should have reviewed it back then, but happy to do so now in hopes to encourage you to give this movie a chance!
Yes, it is not 5.2 at all. (What it gets as of 22/Dec/13)The story basically revolves around a 'Bounty-Hunter' trying to get in an FDA to help herself get some money in her account after she lost her job of being a lingerie sale person at Macy's (One store I love a lot)!!I got to say I admire Katherine Heigl for this role and her body ;) ..I personally Loved the character of Sherri Shepherd (Lula)and Debbie Reynolds(her Grand Ma).She has done a decent job to what is actually good story. Yes, this might not be one of those epic, unforgettable movie, but yes, would be worth of your time.
