Overrated
Good movie but grossly overrated
Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
A movie that does it all right. Suitable for the entire family, about a princess from a made-up country, non-offensive for any other existing nation, emphasizing the value of loyalty and friendship between girls/women, perfectly cast with the lovable Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato), the mean girl is not a blonde - like in pretty much any other teenager movie - an overly strained cliché and not necessarily true at all. All in all perfect non-offensive entertainment with heart and fun, a good message and even a bit action - way to go. I would give it 10 stars, but I have to stay true to my principles and since I usually take away stars for a lack of creativity (and since this movie is entertaining and wonderful but does not have the most original plot) and since there are movies who deserve 10 stars even more, well-meant 9 stars.
Carter Mason (Selena Gomez) only has her father Joe (Tom Verica). He goes away to protect princess Rosalinda Montoya (Demi Lovato). General Magnus Kane (Johnny Ray) takes over her country. She escapes with colonel Mason under the International Princess Protection Program. She is relocated to live with Joe in Louisiana under the new identity of Rosie Gonzalez. Now she must adjust to high school life in America while being harassed by mean girl Chelsea (Jamie Chung).The premise is silly. It's nothing unexpected from Disney. One must accept the stupidity and go on with the movie. This is about the performances of the two girls and their chemistry. They are good actresses and they have good screen presence. They are compatible together. They're really the only saving grace in an otherwise weak high shool movie.
My daughter says we should give this film one million stars! It is a lovely film about how our lives can change in a flash, and we can learn new things about ourselves.It is about a princess from far away who has to go to stay with her bodyguards family for her own protection. However, she has to pretend that she is not a princess anymore, and just an ordinary girl. she has lots of adventures, some of them are quite funny, some of them very dramatic.This is a good film to teach children moral values. It has some lovely costumes and scenery in it.The story line is very good.There is some good acting in it.
predictable plot, impossible circumstances. How the hell did that crazy general come to the USA and tried to kidnap the princess without the immigration guy knowing? LoL come on! get real! the Chinese girl was also unfit on the role, she looks like a trying hard Lucy Liu. In general, the movie was a big fail. I really would like to make a nice comment but i hardly cant find any to give. Oh, there's one... their house beside the lake has a nice view.The only funny scene that i saw is the lizard in the toilet. This movie maybe well suited for teens aged 11-13. All in the, the movie really has nothing to offer.
