Disapointment
It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
The first time I watched this movie was when I was scrolling through Netflix a few days prior to this review with my brothers I wasn't expecting anything amazing, in fact I thought it was going to be somewhat irritating like Sheep & Wolves but to my surprise, it was genuinely pretty good.Let's start with the main thing that this movie had over something like say Sheep & Wolves, is that most of the characters in this movie are actually likable, I don't know if I'm just being more biased because of the voice actors or something but they just really nail these characters. Not to mention the incredible singing (yet ultimately unnecessary at times), some of the songs sang just POP with beauty. This movie could have easily put in some bland, boring music and probably get away with it, but nope, they actually try.Now something I don't like about this movie is the actual animation, man does it suck at some parts. I know the budget was probably low and a deadline was fast approaching but they could have at least refined it just a little more, like with Sheep & Wolves where the 3D rendering looks absolutely beautiful and exquisitely fluid, although this was made in 2010 so I can kind of understand but seriously some of the faces look so weirdly contorted that they make you just want to die inside a little. Though Sheep & Wolves had much more to work with and probably a much higher budget. Now to where I think both movies absolutely suck at. Story, now I know people have different opinions on all of this but I just think that the story in both movies is just so boring.I'm not going to bother writing the story down since you can just read a brief synopsis of it on this page. They're both annoyingly generic and you'd be able to find a similar story in a primary school library. Now Alpha and Omega isn't as bad when it comes to inputting the story, but I still think it's too boring and generic. Anyways overall this movie is a perfectly good movie for kids and if you're not a b****y wannabe critic like me, I definitely recommend this movie to those parents for their kids.
Blend is just an understatement to describe this movie.Let's start with the story,It's as mundane and uninspired as any movie could ever be.You could sense the ending just by reading the synopsis only.---NEGATIVES--- The characters are atrocious! You got the main character who is just your standard blend lazy character and you got his girlfriend who is like just a standard courageous girl that you've seen like a million times before.Plus, she's really out of the main character's league.Their relationship is as predictable as it can get.The supporting cast are also really annoying! You got a duck and a goose who are not funny at all!Soundtrack was forgettable,There were a few musical numbers in this movie.I remember the ending showed the wolves singing and by that time I don't really care anymore.---POSITIVES---Well,I must point out the positive from this movie. At least the voice acting was bearable with an exception of a few characters. The animation was okay, nothing special though.Sadly that's all the positives that I can think of.---VERDICT--- This movie is awful,I fell asleep while watching this movie.Everything in this movie is so mediocre that it made me angry. I saw the movie in theaters and in 3D(Yes 3D was garbage) back in September 2010 and I really regret it.I could've watched Legend of the Guardians the Owls of Ga'hoole instead of this trash of a movie.I was 12 when I saw this movie and even then I knew it was bad. That's a bad sign! But if you enjoy this movie, good for you!Maybe you could enjoy the movie more than I do.
"Alpha and Omega" is not a bad animated movie, nor it is particularly outstanding. This is an animated that is well-suited for children and youngsters, while it is not really all that appealing to an adult audience, unlike many other animated movies on the market. The story in "Alpha and Omega" is about two tribes of wolves struggling for food in the same valley. In an order to unite the wolf tribes, an alpha member from both tribes is to marry. Things go awry and the omega male wolf Humphrey (voiced by Justin Long) and alpha female wolf Kate (voiced by Hayden Panettiere) end up being relocated to Idaho by humans, and have to race across wilderness and human territory to get back to their home before struggle breaks out between the two tribes.Initially, the story is alright, although it seems to be minded for a younger audience, as there is a heap of comedy and a very non-adult theme and feeling throughout the entire feature. As such, I am not saying it bad, far from it, just keep in mind that as an adult "Alpha and Omega" doesn't offer all that much. And there is something for every young viewer to be had in "Alpha and Omega"; there is comedy, action, drama, romance, bravery, and even singing and dancing. The animation in "Alpha and Omega" was nice, though not fully up to par with something seen in other animated movies. But still, it worked out nicely enough, and there were some good details and great scenes. Lots of variation in the wolves."Alpha and Omega" has quite a good ensemble of actors and actresses to do the voice acting, and that really paid off in favor of the movie.A fun and exciting animated movie for the younger audience, and a movie that I assume could be watched again and again by this particular audience. As an adult, having seen this once now, I find it highly unlikely that I will be watching it a second time around, as there are more impressive animated movies available.
The first time i heard 'bout "Alpha and Omega" was round 2 years ago, when i came back from a basketball game i had with my friends. I saw a picture of the movie's poster and i went to check out the trailer on the internet. And ya know what? I loved this movie like a lot. It was hilarious and touching, the animation was amazing and the characters were really well done."Alpha and Omega" talks the story about two wolves (Kate and Humphrey), who're in the same pack, but on the opposite sides. Kate (Hayden Panettiere) lives her life for hunting and discipline, while Humphrey (Justin Long) lives his life for fun and friends. Humphrey falls in love with Kate but their pack doesn't stand a chance with that. Kate gets forced to marry Garth (Chris Carmack), the son of the eastern wolf pack, Tony (Dennis Hopper), but then, Kate and Humphrey get tranquilized by park rangers to find themselves in morning in Idaho, USA. Thanks to a French-Canadian goose, Marcel (Larry Miller) and a English duck, Paddy (Eric Price) Humphrey and Kate decide to get back to Jasper and stop the war, but first they gotta survive each other. The movie is directed by Anthony Bell ("The Boondocks", "The Simpsons") and Ben Gluck ("Brother Bear 2") and i gotta say, they did a great job making it. But, i gotta admit, the story isn't really strong. I mean, the arrival back to Jasper is a bit too easy and i mostly liked Garth and Lilly's romance together (even though my favorite characters are Kate and Humphrey). But, to me, "Alpha and Omega" is greatest wolf movie i ever seen. It's hilarious, touching and sweet and the action scenes are really hardcore (even though the jokes weren't really funny). I also heard that Lionsgate is gonna be making a sequel for the movie, called "Alpha and Omega 2" and seriously i couldn't believe that they're really making a second one, so i hope it turns out just as amazing as the first one.10/10
