what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Jersey Girl I think is an average movie. Definitely not one of my favorites, but at the same time not the worst movie I've ever seen. The plot of the movie is well thought out and is a good idea for a movie. Ben Affleck who plays Ollie Trinke is a Manhattan music publicist. He later meets the girl of his dreams and she becomes pregnant. However, his life completely changes when she dies while giving birth. He moves back in with his father in New Jersey to raise his daughter, Gertie, by himself. This movie has emotion and drama, but also comedy at the same time. This film is heartwarming because of the way Ollie Trinke steps up to be the best dad he can be. He really ends up caring for his daughter after getting thrown a curve ball of becoming a single dad. This would be a great family movie.

Jersey Girl is kinda a cute film, it's acted well, by Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler and by Jennifer Lopez. Lopez is not in very much of the movie, but she is pretty good in the small part she is In. Liv and Ben have good on screen chemistry together, and you buy their connection. The script is pretty formulaic and run of the mill, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's poorly written or low in quality. Although the script is not cinematic gold, it's doable. There are some comical and humorous lines of dialogue that had me laughing, so the comedy didn't fail. I did like the film's sweet moments of drama, they were good to see. Jason Biggs does not have a very prominent role, but much like Lopez, he does well with his somewhat small portion. This movie does have its flaws, but it's not terrible, 6/10 on my rating scale.

Kevin Smith is a talented filmmaker, so before you get on my case about disliking the guy, let me just inform you all that I'm a huge fan of his work. Clerks is great, Mallrats is amazing, Chasing Amy is okay, Dogma was decent, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was hilarious, and so on. With that being said, I was shocked by how bad this movie turned out.You have an all-star cast, an amazing director, and so much potential all wasted for nothing! Ben Affleck is a likable guy but not here and the girl who plays the bratty daughter is not only annoying as hell but she is TERRIBLE. Absolutely atrocious! This Raquel Castro girl makes Veruca Salt look tolerable. It's clear that Liv Tyler and Will Smith couldn't refuse the paycheck by signing on to this complete mess of a movie. Jason Biggs, what were you thinking?! American Pie was the highlight of your career and now it seems that your agent picks your scripts to act in at random, regardless of the quality.The plot goes nowhere, the characters are uninteresting, and I found the whole experience to be just boring. We're talking about a once great writer-director and THIS is what we get? You've got to be kidding me. It tries to be sappy and then it attempts to be raunchy and then Kevin Smith doesn't know whether his target audience for this are kids or adults. There was never a time in the process where his producer, Scott Mosier, read the script and told him, "C'mon! You can totally do better than this"? Seriously, this is a movie with the words BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD written all over it. Watch Clerks or Mallrats instead of Jersey Hurl!

this movie is so good that you can imagine by the thing thats it made me write my first ever review !!! no if's no but .. if you are into too much love with your parents go & watch the movie asap ... don't miss it .... best movie to describe parental love .. very touching made my heart cry out .. lovely acting by every characteri wish now that i had daughter especially after watching this movie ... hats off too story writer .. the concept the directing everything was amazing ... & giving the Maya character to story was too good ....best movie in a good time !!!! i loved it like hell"dont you dare miss it " ... best ever touching movie ...
