Sorry, this movie sucks
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
This movie has so much potential, but I feel they try to put too many things, over- complicated plot and what is that Wookie doing there? too much mixture of religion science and ideologies. The script not very defined or clear. Good things, an awesome story about good versus evil, creative story, very ambitious. Great acting. Over all awesome story for kids and a fight against everything that is evil. I love the quotes from literature they use in the plot, kind of star wars Yoda way.I think this movie should be remade with serious script editing and more budget. I bet it would be a huge success.
A Wrinkle in Time is one of my favorite books of all time. It's incredibly intelligent, interesting, creative, emotional, and complex. The movie, on the other hand, is anything but. I know that a movie is unlikely to capture everything about a book. However, this movie goes beyond discrepancies between film and novel - it completely destroys everything that was good about the novel and turns it into a cheesy, simplistic, poorly-CGI'd nightmare. The character development is completely absent. Relationships that are interesting in the book are creepy at best in the movie. There are unnecessary departures from the plot of the book, and many good, complex, interesting scenes are deleted and replaced with strange episodes of physical violence, knife-throwing, and shouting. The animation is beyond atrocious - it's distractingly blurry and unrealistic, to the point of being comical. Seriously, do not, under any circumstances, waste your time.
I absolutely hated how there was basically NO dialog with "aunt beast", also i was laughing at how pathetic they looked, i was expecting special effects not a chewbacca looking costume!I also hated how Camazotz looked dystopian, the way they described it i imagined a bright, beautiful and TOO perfect planet(it's creepier and adds suspense and suspicion, also CENTER center intelligence didn't follow the description and looked cheesy)...the characters in the town were nothing like the book, they seemed to actually be individuals, when in reality IT is in the consciousness of every being(which is why prime controller knew so much) and the citizens were robots, but when asked questions they turned pale(prime controller see's through them and his panic shows through the citizen)
Disney? What happened? I really wish the movie had been set in the 60's ;like the book was. And I really could have dealt with cheap special effects in order to save the budget for a more accurate adaption..... I'm glad that, maybe, someone might be influenced to read the books..... but, The Man With Red Eyes interchangeable as IT? And what's up with the volcanic upheaval? Where was THAT in the book? Peter Jackson! Save us!!!! A long time ago (1978) I heard that there was European version of this film. I sure wish I could id it. I can only imagine it might be closer to the real story than this poor adaption. This movie needs to be X'd.
