Waste of time
It is a performances centric movie
hyped garbage
A brilliant film that helped define a genre
I am a big fan of the werewolf lore, and when I discover a film about those cute pets, I always hope it won't end up as a complete mess, which is unfortunately more than often the case. But not here! Dang, it's the best Werewolf film in years, imho. I still remember the details after days and plan on watching it again in the next time. The film takes quite a different approach, which is highly appreciated by me: For a change you don't see any transformations into with fangs and claws armed beasts (just at one point some wobbling at the 'mans' back), instead you see some brutally raw animal like violence, similar to berserks with super powers. There could have been a tad more of it, but that action shown is well done and more 'realistic' like this.Plus it's also kind of a thriller/drama with the story also taking a bit of a scientific way to 'explain' the situation, which totally fits in.I found the characters likable developed and the acting well done, especially by the of the murders accused giant and her defender. I also liked the good directing and camera work.If you like quality werewolf films with some great gore and violence that differ from the majority there is, then you might want to check this one out. Definitely recommenced.
Strongly by pass, save your time, nerves and mind !Judging by the ratings of the film received some disgustingly incompetent they did. And seeing this ugly picture moments that disfigure writer and director, casting doubt on whether Homo Sapiens they are, I realized that this sh1t can contemplate only a mindless idiot who only mediocrity Give embodies their stupid fantasies based on delusions and dullness (taking into account all the nuances of their script and story) This will not do, well, just in any reasonable and adequate framework... Except that, a feeling that once again filmed for some stupid 15 yo's (max.) pimply teen ... With such success ... it is time screenwriter and director should be sent immediately at a landfill or rubbish dump - - and take shoot such series as "Code Name: Eternity".And the problem is not that is the budget was a little weak ... but in theirs terrible mistakes of the plot story and the episodes, which were based on the absence of any reasonable and adequate logic buyout disfigured everything they filmed. Dear and insufficiently respected writers, directors, this personal request personal to you, please, raise your IQ at first before trying to make movie something like that, and do not so much disgrace yourself by wretchedness of your thought.A.J.Cook? though if I download this horror, her acting, type never would remind me of "Criminal Minds"? Ehmm .. I doubt ... but probably all watched the movie .. just for the sake of Blondie ...and looking at her acting game, I realized ... What a shame it, this A.J.Cook captured in this sh1t-movie ....And all the other actors playing the same disgusting ... and then they just do not believe, and even throw something desirable (each at its discretion what exactly) Sorry for such criticism, but so I just kind of person. When I was by sh1t inveigle in, I react to your ugliness, I do not blame that make such ugly films and in which the actors are eager to disgrace myself even.Still, the best moment of the film, and only for the sake of which he was, IMHO, is worth a look - 1h. 15m. 28-31 seconds. And the only one distinctive from the others coped with their work properly - is the composer.
So much of Hollywood within the past 10 years & counting have stopped caring about the film goers & just about the all mighty dollar which is why we have so many damn remakes in American cinema. Originality is dead, which is why I enjoy foreign films so much as they are always coming up with something new or revamping a story & making it their one by one upping the cool factor.Case in point, WER. This film takes the werewolf genre and completely flips it on its head, giving a realistic & believability take on the centuries old legend. Let's start with the synopsis: A defense attorney & her council (played brilliantly & flawlessly by A.J. Cook of "Tru Calling" fame, Vik Sahay who is known for the TV series "CHUCK", & Simon Quarterman who played Father Ben Rawlings in "The Devil Inside") begins to suspect that there might be more to her suspected client, who has charged with the murders of a vacationing family. This has a slight familiar feel to it, ala "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" but replacing the demonic horrors with lycanthropy storyline and creating much more tense environment. This film has scares & jumps galore and for those of you are are partial to the gore aspect of what goes along with the werewolf mythos you won't be disappointed either. The special visual effects are staggering realistic which one has come to expect from Gore Guru & make up genius Robert Hall (who created CHROMESKULL from the LAID TO REST films, as well as created the make up for the GRIMM & Firefly series). The death sequences are not over the top & are disturbing enough to make you wince. Also, the transformation of our "WER" in my opinion is one of the best I've seen since American werewolf in London and the howling. Keep in mind, it will NEVER be as iconic but the realism that Baker & Bottin brought to the screen can be seen in Hall's werewolf transformation. Another thing this film brings to the table that I've never seen before is the fact that the werewolf's curse is completely and 100% described through scientific evidence and it is completely plausible even in this day and age. The filmmakers make you as a audience feel that it could be possible that this "sickness" is a very real thing which bring the horror to a whole new level of fear, keep in mind that there are some very cool WOW factors that are also thrown into the film that will make you smirk & smile at the screen in horror goodness also. I'd also like to mention that throughout the intensity of this film, the storyline is never lacking. Starting out strong and never letting up, leading up to a very satisfying finale. The film itself is a mystery thriller until you hit halfway through at which point you are treated to fast paced non stop violent rage filled action horror film.As you can see, I love this film. So much in fact, I plan on watching it again in the new 2 weeks. If you are a fan of the werewolf genre and want a new take on myth, stop what you are doing now and check this film out.
Since Twilight Werewolves, along with Vampires, were made a joke of. Timid and caring instead of the old fashioned rip-them-to-pieces killing machines. Fortunately "Wer" understands the true value of a Werewolf and will have fans of the sub genre rejoicing! The biggest plus is the vicious nature the film has and a solid build up with a mythology behind the main villain. I liked the way the mysterious Werewolf unfolded and it promised to a thrilling climax. Unfortunately, even though the pay off is incredibly violent, the movie starts getting a bit silly and loses all the control that the first half had. Mixing it with some pretty ordinary CGI effects, the second half is nowhere near as polished as the first, which ultimately hurts it, but thankfully there is enough to like about "Wer" to make it a recommended film!
