The Worst Film Ever
Expected more
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
I decide to take a chance on this movie one boring afternoon while browsing through the instant play foreign movie listing. Now I am going to take pleasure thrashing it to my heart's content. Pyaar Impossible is another of those overdosed clichéd romance stories that get churned out by Yash Chopra's factory production year after year. However hard it tries to prove itself to be an atypical movie , it is anything but. The movie starts with the two protagonists in an American university continuing the Chopra obsession with catering to it's NRI fan base. Alisha an extremely hot girl ( ya she actually is! ) is lusted and worshiped by a nerd. All nerds in the world fall only for women whom they can never have. Since it is a bollywood movie the nerd of course never moves on and 7 years running still dreams of his lady love. The "love" happening without them having a single conversation with each other and entirely due to her sexy outfits and sexy attitude or the lack of either. Since miracles never cease to exist in such movies he lands up begin the now conveniently divorced hot chick's bratty daughter's ( the most annoying kid in the history of Indian cinema) nanny. How he gets hired is a story that will call for protests from the child services department. The rest is predictable with nerd getting tips from a 6 year old on " how to score with mom" . Horror of horrors , she even asks details on how they spent the night together !! Uday Chopra's personality befits the role he plays while Priyanka Chopra who is usually so talented hams throughout the movie trying to behave like an American born and bred. Her exaggerated body language and expressions gyrate on your senses and you have to stick to concentrating on her looks. The movie has very few good moments one of them been where Uday very candidly proves how much looks matter. Ya this is an impossible love story but in Bollywood anything is possible!
After seeing the trailer I have to say I was not expecting a miracle and but even then I was disappointed. We'll start with the storyline. Boy liked girl in college, girl didn't like boy. He has to go to Singapore where she just happens to be, at the exact same place that he is. Doesn't take a genius to guess what happens at the end. It sounds even more ridiculous while i'm typing it.Uday Chopra - the boy in this instance has done a better job of acting that I have seen in his previous films, but even then he is no lead actor, he just has no connection with the audience. Emotions are just not felt and really I normally sit there thinking I could do a better job.Priyanka - Acting was better than Uday but even still, what the hell has she done to her hair. I am sure there will be a lot of males quite happy with the fact that she was showing as much of her legs off as possible for the entire movie - I wish she would concentrate on her acting more. Yes she is good looking but then so is Kajol but I don't see her going around in next to nothing.Little girl - probably one of the worst child actresses I have seen and tbh I was just annoyed with her, didn't take to her or like her throughout the entire film.In fact the best performance of this film probably goes to Dino Morea who actually did a decent job. I definitely hope to see him progress.Uday - give up. You did Dhoom (which you were also useless in).........stop now Priyanka - Act, and act well, or people will leave the cinema remembering your clothes (or lack of) rather than your performance.Songs - poor, just really poor. Repetitive, annoying and even the miming to them was just a disgrace.I have only given a 2 because of Dino
Garbage. Such a weak story, not even funny or fun. Very predictable and the premise of it all is just very annoying. I wish I had never watched it what a waste of time. The songs were horrible also so basically this movie has nothing going for it at all. That's kind of sad. I don't know what they were thinking but they obviously weren't thinking clearly. Hopefully they never make a movie out of a script like this again but I mean that's really impossible especially these days. Good movies are hard to come by especially good Hindi movies. What can you do? Nothing really, just gotta watch it and waste your time I guess. 1 Out of 10 and I hope no one wastes their money on this movie.
First off, I really enjoyed watching the film. It is a very simple yet sweet romantic comedy. It delivers great direction and performances by all the leading cast and an impressive sound track. In some point of time, everyone has experienced unattainable love. 'Pyaar Impossible' definitely shows that with a remarkable love story narrated through Abhay Sharma (Uday Chopra) about the love of his life Alisha Merchant (Priyanka Chopra). A story about a geek who is in love with a beautiful girl totally out of his league.Uday Chopra as Abhay Sharma - loved his acting, fit the role of a Geek perfectly. Uday Chopra has definitely made a strong comeback.Priyanka Chopra as Alisha Merchant - one of the finest Bollywood actress of this generation. Great acting and also looks super gorgeous throughout the movie.Dino Morea as Sidhu (alias Varun) - Lived up to his role, also does a fine job as the villain. The songs are well-portrayed to emphasize the love between the beauty and the geek. The background score was also fantastic!Overall, I enjoyed watching the film. A film that can surely connect with the younger Bollywood audience through its simple love story.9/10 Must Watch
