I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Best movie ever!
Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
I love Aaliyah, but this movie was the absolute worst for several reasons. Wendy Williams went against her parents wishes to NOT do this, therefore none of her music was in the movie. The actors looked NOTHING like the actual people and it was just bad all around. If you haven't seen this atrocious movie, great for you, keep it that way. I am so disappointed in those who participated in this film. The only good thing about this movie is that Alexandra does a tad bit like Aaliyah, just a tad. Everything else is absolutely horrible. I can't think of any other way to describe it, so atrocious, terrible, horrible, bad and the worst part is that it was on Lifetime. Lifetime is known for having terrible movies that are extremely cheesy and unbelievable. Putting it on Lifetime was not a good look, this entire movie was not a good look. Babygirl should have been represented better and I hope one day, it's done the right way and put in theaters, she deserves to have her story told the right way, all Wendy wanted was the juice on her and R. Kelly, that all this was about.
I attempted to watch this "movie". I will always be an Aaliyah fan. The fact comes to three big points. 1. Why not mention her movie career. Why focus on gossip instead. 2. What about her hits. Yes she had a career with R. Kelly, but her biggest hits came with Timberland and Missy please refer to "Try Again". 3. Why did Wendy Williams produce a movie when she is only known for gossip. So I can't take it serious. I wish that someone will do justice to her legacy. The acting, didn't watch to much. But after watching one performance of the actress singing, I knew it wasn't for me. Die hard fans will hate this movie!! Be warned. Everything that could've went wrong did. The fact that Wendy Williams thought and tweeted that "Let me know" was a song was just pathetic. How did they put together a film and couldn't even pick up an album to get the song title right.
Yes this movie was terrible butWhy not have a documentary movie instead?, which screens all of Aaliya's music videos, behind the scenes work, video through her career and life in one big movie edited with all her music, include her ups and downs. I would watch something like this on IMAX.Movies on legends are difficult to do and to do them you need a big budget to get the emotions correct, casting even more correct and so on. You cannot find someone that looks exactly like Missy Elliot and acts her out exceptionally well. Just have missy and timbaland themselves give their experience working with Aaliyah.
I had to rewrite this review because I wasn't allowed to use all caps to express how furious I am about this biopic Lifetime movie of Aaliyah. This movie gets ONE star. If I could give it a zero, I would. The Biopic was poorly executed. The casts had me so confused. Alexandra Shipp acting was a joke. *sigh* I didn't know Missy Elliot was biracial; didn't know Timbaland was Puerto Rican, and R. Kelly, didn't know he was from Nigeria. No. I'm not being racist, because I am a black woman but you would think the cast would have some similarities with the actual artists. I know the beautiful Aaliyah just looking down from Heaven and wondering why they would do this...they only focused on her romantic life than her music. Terrible! I usually don't write reviews at all but I felt it was only right for me to do so and give you guys my honest opinion about this biopic. Don't waste an 1 1/2 of your life watching this movie that you can't get back. I'd rather for you to watch paint dry than to sit through this mess of a movie. Please!!! I beg! Don't watch it. You will be highly disappointed!! LOL!!! I've warned you!!!
