This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Look this movie was... Well it wasn't that it was horrible Now the acting Jesus Christ that was horror at its best But the film was more typical ghost movie cheesy music cheap scares that you saw coming Due to the fact every ghost flick has used them to death already And it felt like I was watching a goosebumps episode It wasn't scary at all In fact the movie was predictable everything was predictable The best way to describe it is you know when you watch a movie and then you watch The movie again you know everything that's going to happen that's what it was like Although I hadn't seen it I saw the scares or should I say the lack of scares coming And knew the ending straight away Here's the lo down A family moves into to a house now the story goes Susan (Lira Kellerman) and Drake (Michael Holmes), a couple become caretakers Of an old mansion now Susan and Drake and their daughter are relentlessly tormented by ghosts who dwell in the house and finally turn to Harrison Dent (Tomas Boykin), who is a paranormal investigator whom they hope may be able to put the house's ghosts to rest. Here's the bad part it was so predictable I guessed the ending within 20 minutes you only have to listen to the dialogue and boom you know the ending Without giving anything away I thought around 10-20 minutes in I said this is what's gonna happen and guess what that's how it ended Second the scares are typical doll comes to life crawls slowly towards the bed And disappears and I thought bet it pops back up and scares the crap Out of her and guess what it did Another scene a blanket floats in the air their daughter slowly walks over to it Ominous music playing I thought she'll pull off the sheet And I bet there's nothing but air and guess what she pulls off the blanket And nothing but air Look it wasn't a bad movie just predictable from the ending the scares you knew they were going to happen before they did

You have to watch this movie, I am warning that in the start the acting is for some reason really bad and forced.Any way, so the story was great. it was really creepy and i jumped a few times. I have to say that i was entertained the entire times.I would not say that this is a b movie more of a A-.Some of the people that are "haunting" the house are really really creepy. The whole movie was just put together in a good way creating a fun watch.I think that you should watch it for sure. The ending is will shock you!

With all the horror movies made in the USA involving a haunted house, you would think one that features one of the most famous haunted places in the world (Winchester Mystery House in San Nose, CA) would feature a unique and compelling story. However, this film fails to deliver that notion and instead is a campy, low-budget, and unoriginal movie. This film was Winchester in name only, elaborating very little on the real-life Winchester Mystery House. Sarah Winchester, the heiress who kept construction on the house going non-stop for 38 years to appease the spirits of those killed by the Winchester firearms, was portrayed as just a lost soul looking for her long lost daughter (why she could not find her daughter in her own darn house is beyond me). There was no effort in elaborating the history behind Sarah Winchester nor the many different rooms, secret chambers, doors and hallways in the house. If you're going to have the Winchester Mystery House portrayed in a film, at least make the characters explore the many different and eerie aspects of the house like the staircase that leads up to the ceiling, door to nowhere, the séance room, Winchester's bedroom, the garden, the 7-11 staircase, emphasis of the number 13, etc. Also, make the effort of having the house located in a city like in real life, rather than sequestered in the woods. Detailing and emphasizing the history and mystery of the house will make the film more unique and original. Instead, the lack thereof makes the film dull and stands out as just another low-budget, ghost-on-the-loose horror flick.Lastly, the acting is absolutely horrible - lack of substance, emotion, depth and drama. It looked as if the actors were ill-prepared for their roles and made very little effort in portraying their characters. I had to cover my eyes a few times just because the acting was so terrible. I have to single out the actress who played "Susan Grenier." I think she is the worse actor in the film who, at times, tries too hard to be realistic (i.e., forcing out tears when she cries).Overall, if you're bored and looking for a good horror movie to pass the time (like I was), you might be better off choosing to watch something else! Grade F

Haunting of Winchester House is a unique horror film because not only is the story full of interesting twists and turns, but it was produced in 3-D. You will certainly find yourself jump and cringe at some the more intense scenes, for things will really JUMP out at you. It is so refreshing to see a horror film that doesn't merely rely on buckets of blood and fake body parts being flung around to supply the entertainment and bulk of the movie. The use of practical stunts and props within Haunting of Winchester House does add an element of realism that is lacking in so many movies today. Digital, it's always digital, but the effects leave a lasting impression when you can see that it is a real person in the shot, and not a computer image. Haunting of Winchester House creates a classic scary movie feel, but with modern cinematic touches and expression throughout. If you have numbed yourself with bloody, cheesy slasher films then perhaps this movie is not for you. But for those with a more refined taste for blood and chills, Haunting of Winchester House is right up your alley. I look forward to more films from director Mark Atkins and his crew. In a time where 3-D is the future of film, I can only imagine what is in store!
