A Masterpiece!

By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

I worked in advertising, so I'm used to seeing ad agencies on screen that have nothing to do with what that world is really like. And that's the case here.But I also began to feel that nothing about these characters seemed real either. And that wasn't just because of the atrocious acting (particularly from supporting characters). So I looked at the other reviews here and see a couple extolling this as a good version of the G. A. Hauser book. Never heard of G.A. Hauser, so looked "him" up.It's not a him. It's a her. She's written over 120 gay (M/M) romance novels/stories. Now, I'm not saying women can't write about gay men. Some of the best novels of our world were written by women (Highsmith, Renault, Yourcenar). But those were literary works, not romance books--the kind that the French describe as "a book to read with one hand."So. This is a cartoon story that doesn't really have anything to do with how gay life really works. This is somebody's fantasy of what gay life might be like with a couple of stereotypical hunky guys as the primary characters.This is garbage. Story and production. Every aspect. However. If you're gay and you found this entertaining, well, I'm guessing you don't have a lot of experience in a gay community and that most of your knowledge of gay life is from secondary sources. That's okay, especially if you're young, or inexperienced, or closeted, or living in the boondocks. Just please don't think that there is anything real or authentic about what is presented in this movie. It's more like fanfic or Yaoi. If you can enjoy it on that level, fine. But for gay men looking for something authentic, you won't find it here.

Capital Games is about Steve, an ex-cop turned ad agency salesman whose life and career gets upended when Brit/Aussie/foreign dude Mark is hired by the firm. At first, Steve fears losing his precious job and the account he'd been working on for years. But a work retreat changes things for both men. Also, Mark is engaged to a butterface woman and a hot gay male lawyer, who also happens to know Steve's ex-girlfriend. Mark believes he has to go along with the wedding despite having feelings for Steve and fearing he'll lose everything (dude, you do realize being gay in the 2010s is no big deal especially in Cali, right?) So Steve goes from hating Mark to a secret rendezvous with Mark to stalking him and this loop go on and on and on. Also, we get a brief explanation on why he became an ex-cop (something about daddy pointing a gun at him because ex-girlfriend was black). I don't know anything about this G.A. Hauser guy whose name is all over the credits, but this movie felt like a gay The Room. The acting is bad, the filming is wobbly, the dialog is corny, and wayyy too many aerial shots of the city, deserts, and beaches. This is suppose to be a movie, not a travelogue. On the plus side, the guys go shirtless a lot. If you're looking for a cheesy bad film, go for it. If not, look elsewhere.

This is a gay romance between two "straight" advertising agency executives who are adversaries in their company. In all fairness, a lot of this adversity is directed by Steve towards Mark, who just stands up for himself against Steve. From the start of the film, you can see Steve is a very driven, focused person. He will always give 110% to anything he does in life.Steve Miller is a working-class American ex-cop who has joined the ad agency. He's been working on the Foist account for 3 years and expects to get it when its up for grabs. Then along comes Mark Richfield, an English upper-class guy who has just joined the company, who makes the mistake of nicking Steve's parking space. Then Mark seems to be up for grabs to automatically get the Foist account. That puts Mark on Steve's personal radar and hit-list.There is a team-bonding exercise in the desert. Steve does his usual take-control thing. He HAS to be the leader. He manages in one exercise to get stranded in the desert overnight with Mark. They squabble a fair bit as they usually do, then Steve takes charge as he usually does, snogs Mark breathless and things kick off. BOY do they kick off! So Steve and Mark have one fantastic gay night together, then they get back to town and Steve discovers Mark is engaged and due to be married in a month's time. Do you think this is going to stop Steve? Heck no!The film shows Mark to be a bit spoiled and vulnerable perhaps due to his posh upbringing, which he admits to. He is definitely needy out in the desert at night when he is scared that Steve will abandon him.Mark gets panicked by Steve stropping off after another squabble and says desperately "you can't leave me alone" then Steve says "I won't", that is one of the most romantic parts of this film for me. Steve also tells Mark later that he is high-maintenance, and Mark cheerfully admits it.I won't say any more about the rest of this film, I don't want to spoil the ending, but it is worth making the effort to watch.In my opinion, the acting overall was very good. The two leads, Eric Presnall (Steve) and Gregor Cosgrove (Mark) were excellent. I would like to see more of these two (although in this film we saw a LOT of Gregor Cosgrove heheh :P) What more can I say about Gregor Cosgrove? This guy is HOT!!! To be fair, Eric Presnall is very attractive too. The sexual chemistry between these two guys is sizzling!I absolutely love this film. It is a gay romance I will be able to watch again and again, from start to end, because I love the script, the acting and Steve and Mark in particular.Also have to say the musical score is great. The songs are really good and relate to the mood of each scene. I'm going to look into whether there is a soundtrack to buy for this film.

I really love this movie, very interesting story, romantic guys and beautiful actors, I wish the movie is longer, well at least until they both get married, that would be wonderful. Eric Presnall and Gregor Cosgrove really match and their acting is very good, really look like real gay couple. I love them very much. I'm curious to know how did it feel for them to kiss each other passionately like that during the shooting? my favorite scene is when they both kissed in the elevator, after kissing, they were smiling and look so happy, it looks so real and make me smile big. Eric seemed really like to kiss and touch Gregor's long hair, it is so sweet. I love the ending too, though I wish to see them kissing again in the car.
